Cook is now England's highest ever test runs scorer . Must say I tend not to pay to much attention to this sort of thing , sportsmen / women of different era's face different situations . Amount of games played/ styles of play / / races driven etc .

Although it has taken Cook something like 5 fewer Tests to get to Gooch's total than it took Gooch.
Oh I agree , but what about over rates , hours / days lost to bad weather , it really wasn't a complaint and well done Cook and Anderson yesterday , just IMHO there are so many variables .
We looked at one point as if we were going to slaughter them, but wickets change games. NZ must feel they are back in this...hope the rain holds off for tomorrow.
Run rate isn't that important as it isn't a 50 over match or a 20:20 and we are 1 up in a 2 match series. I can see us getting close to their score, then kicking on in the 2nd innings.
Well, I told the wife I would watch the first couple of overs while suffering with manflu ... might as well watch a couple more now and see the end of the innings!

Sorry guys. England get a first innings lead of... 0. Scores level, only the second time it's happened in England.
I can see a lot of people adopting NZ as their 2nd favourite team. Hopefully the rest of the world, including England, follows NZ's path. This has probably been the best two test series I have ever seen involving England, and a huge amount of credit goes to NZ for that.
I think the way test matches are being played is changing . I have loved these last 2 tests , total respect between the two teams
