Hardly. Newcastle looked after them both and paid their wages while they recovered from their respective issues. Now that they're both back playing again and able to find a new club, Newcastle are under no obligation to renew their contracts if they are deemed surplus to requirements.

People moan about players not being loyal, yet clubs are just as bad. To me they could have offered Guti a years extension at least. So yes in my opinion it is disgusting.

Think if there is any truth in it it would be a loan move. I'm pretty doubtful that we are seriously pursuing targets (ie enough for them to be in Southampton visiting) until we know if we have European football next season.

Um why wouldn't we be? We need new players anyways.
