Depends. If there was no better option that could be agreed upon, then they may have felt it was better than nothing and so agreed on that basis.
which is even worse.. its weak willed and incompetant. if for example say we went oh... can't get x and y and then we put the money into markovic and were trying to hold money for moreno... wellllll.... that was pretty ****ing stupid. I would say that as we bought nothing in january we did run out of cash... we spread it too thin.... Buying balotelli was something so stupid that it coud only end one way and every pundit and football fan knew what was bound to happen. he was actually even more spectacularly bad than expected. even robbie kenae did better when rafa treated him like dirt. Really the thing is badontelly is a sackable offense and the lot should go. even having him as an option was nuts... they were better off buying ****ing shane long for 12 and admitting the club is on the slide than what they did.
A.1.145. “Season” means the period commencing on the date of the first League Match on the fixture list of the League’s first team competition and ending on the date of the last; V.2. The first Transfer Window in any year shall commence at midnight on the last day of the Season and shall end on 31st August next if a Working Day or, if not, on the first Working Day thereafter, at a time to be determined by the Board. http://m.premierleague.com/content/...handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2014-15.pdf Would suggest the first transfer window is open now, amongst prem clubs?
That's still a sacking offence IMO. If he wasn't good enough (which he clearly wasn't), then he wasn't good enough.
Nope. Clubs can agree deals as soon as the last competitive game is played, but the deal can't be registered until the window opens - on 1st July. This date is actually used because most contracts expire on the 30th June.
Or called reaching a compromiset to move forward? While none of us were thrilled with the signing of Balotelli, in all seriousness, Sturridge plus Borini plus Lambert plus Balotelli is better than Sturridge plus Borini plus Lambert plus no-one. The question is of course whether it would have been no-one or if it could have been someone else, someone good. But it was getting late in the window by that point. It was a gamble, and so far one that has backfired spectacularly.
so Ings could now enter into a binding contract with Spurs, the small technicality of registering the player then takes part on 1st..?
As a Bosman free transfer yes, but not as a Burnley player being sold to Spurs As on the 1st July he's a free agent.
The compromise resulted in buying the wrong player so either way yeah, sack the ****ers for being so utterly stupid! If the committee were all behind the Mario signing that would be fair enough, I would wonder if they were the right people for the job but at least they made a decision and went with it. For some of them to not want him but "settle" for it is scandalous! I'm sure we could have used a youth player just as effectively, hell even Aspas would have done as much as Mario!
any way you cut it....(and there are some on here who want to blame either rodgers or the mysterious committee but rarely both) ANYONE who sat down and even put mario balotelli on a list at all let alone ended up like simon cowell and david walliams arguing over some ****e then said **** it this guy want shooting. that is after all why last night i had to endure watching BoT when 5 ould fellas were going dancing and some clown in high heels pranced about.... cos they thought a **** it some filler here will be fine. it DOES'NT MATTER WHO... the transfer committee spent 117 million on ****e... rodgers is part of it.. further rodgers has proved 3 years running he can't even organise a basic defence Sack the lot.
The committee did make a decision and go with it; they signed Mario (damn them, even though he has done slightly more than Aspas.) So you'd rather that they all were well behind the wrong player rather than there being reservations but it being agreed that overall it was the best way forward?
Couldn't agree less! You may as well have said Studge, Borini, Lambert and a Tesco Carrier bag is better than having Studge, Borini and Lambert!
If the compensatory fee for Ings is based on his training and not how much he is worth, does that mean that Sterling will go for peanuts as well in 2 years time?
There are serious problems when they people in charge aren't keen on a player but sign him anyway! If they were keen and agreed in unison then I'd still have concerns since they were targeting such a poor player but at least they wouldn't have shown they have pathetic mental strength. The whole point of having the committee is supposed to prevent such signings happening, what's the bloody point if people are going to approve it regardless to their own thoughts? ****ing joke.
agreed. the committee has ayre on it.. he should not be having a say bar this si how much money we have.. Mike gordon is on the committee the sick thing is he is the one carrying out the review of their actions... now he owns 12% of FSG sooooo..... then hunter, fallows and edwards... now i'm sorry but if i were manager i'd be making damned sure that a) a part owner of the club was my ally (this seems to be the case and why rodgers is safe) b) that edwards, hunter and fallows were all subserviant to myself and looked at who i wanted not actively pushing their own agenda c) ayre had no say at all. The whole set up smacks of ayre and godron calling the shots... ably given info by edwards who is a stat man and moneyball fellow which no clue.. the only way a player like balotelli turns up is if the moeny men aid his stats are awesome and you have to take him.
Who gives a **** about Ings. Really. He's done nothing in the Prem. 11 in 35. Alright it's better than any of our ****e but hardly worth bothering with. Benteke at 13 in 28 this term is a slightly better option and he has more presence and better experience. Sort of wouldn't mind him coming in but again not a fantastic signing.
Agree to disagree on this one. Although the debate of Balotelli versus a Tesco carrier bag is a different one.
