I would say that as we bought nothing in january we did run out of cash... we spread it too thin.... Buying balotelli was something so stupid that it coud only end one way and every pundit and football fan knew what was bound to happen.
he was actually even more spectacularly bad than expected. even robbie kenae did better when rafa treated him like dirt.
Really the thing is badontelly is a sackable offense and the lot should go. even having him as an option was nuts... they were better off buying ****ing shane long for 12 and admitting the club is on the slide than what they did.

Clubs can agree deals as soon as the last competitive game is played, but the deal can't be registered until the window opens - on 1st July.
This date is actually used because most contracts expire on the 30th June.

While none of us were thrilled with the signing of Balotelli, in all seriousness, Sturridge plus Borini plus Lambert plus Balotelli is better than Sturridge plus Borini plus Lambert plus no-one. The question is of course whether it would have been no-one or if it could have been someone else, someone good. But it was getting late in the window by that point.
It was a gamble, and so far one that has backfired spectacularly.

The compromise resulted in buying the wrong player so either way yeah, sack the ****ers for being so utterly stupid! If the committee were all behind the Mario signing that would be fair enough, I would wonder if they were the right people for the job but at least they made a decision and went with it. For some of them to not want him but "settle" for it is scandalous! I'm sure we could have used a youth player just as effectively, hell even Aspas would have done as much as Mario!

So you'd rather that they all were well behind the wrong player rather than there being reservations but it being agreed that overall it was the best way forward?

There are serious problems when they people in charge aren't keen on a player but sign him anyway! If they were keen and agreed in unison then I'd still have concerns since they were targeting such a poor player but at least they wouldn't have shown they have pathetic mental strength. The whole point of having the committee is supposed to prevent such signings happening, what's the bloody point if people are going to approve it regardless to their own thoughts? ****ing joke.

now i'm sorry but if i were manager i'd be making damned sure that
a) a part owner of the club was my ally (this seems to be the case and why rodgers is safe)
b) that edwards, hunter and fallows were all subserviant to myself and looked at who i wanted not actively pushing their own agenda
c) ayre had no say at all.
