It sounds like the club(ie Assem Allam) has decided to not to subsidise player wages at all and as a consequence he sees no way that Jimmy will be going anywhere(Ipswich a non starter, QPR did look likely, but doesn't any more), though he did say that we would subsidise a bit, as long as it wasn't a major contribution.

Interest in Oli that might happen.

Bid from Reading for McShane nowhere near good enough.

Trying to help Kilbane find another club, due to the help he's given the club.

Still hopeful of finding another club for Ghilas too.

Stupid that they've broken the interview into three parts.

Very interesting interview so far.

It did sound like Jimmy is going nowhere. It would be very exciting if he did stay but I would like to hear Nigel come out and say that he will stay and will be played before I get too excited.

Edit - Still WAY too much rugby on this show.

It's interesting how Adam's rhetoric toward Bullard has changed. Wonder if that is just a pragmatic thing and a realisation that we wont be getting rid of him, or whether Bullard and he have had a heart to heart and patched things up?

Must say I'm a bit disappointed as I had hoped to see Danny Ayala come back. But with the way he is talking about Paul McShane, it looks like it's not going to happen.

Adam, does sound more hopeful than positive and the confidence in the season to come did seem a bit hollow.

Yeah no more permanents before the season starts which is disappointing for those like myself who were hoping for Ayala and treacy.

He sounded very confident though, very optimistic about gulacsi. you do just get a different feel about the bullard situation though.

I am surprised Burns didn't directly ask about the Ayala situation.

Why ? Season long loan and we get him for FREE next summer. No brainer. As long as Ayala is here does it matter if its a loan. ? The next 4 weeks will answer the renaining questions.

How about Bullard helps destroy Blackpool in front of the watching world (sky live) and leaves for DQPR before Ipswich.
Very unlikely but then again QPR are looking very desperate now. Especially if the Drama Queen leaves.

Either he's figuring in Liverpool's future plans, or they'd want to flog him, it's not in their best interests to just loan him out in his final year(unless they extend his contract before he's loaned out). Either way, he wouldn't be free, there'll be a a few hundred grand in compo, so if we wanted him on a permanent, we might as well do it now(as the compo won't be massively different to the fee and it would guarantee he was our player.

I'd be happy to have Bullard playing if all's rosy in the camp and judging by the tigersplayer webcams he's back to his cheeky chappy self..

We won't however be splashing the cash on Ayala if we're still funding him, Oli, Macca & Ghilas.. Macca will be kept as defensive cover surely, except LB where we have Daws/Dudge

So why isn't it happenning?

The way AP spoke it seemed to me that McShane was going to be retained and used as back-up for Hobbs and Chester. There will be no move now for Ayala.

This is all about money. We can't get rid of McShane, Bullard, Killbane etc etc so we are keeping them and NOT going for anyone we actually want.

I thought after what APsaid at the end of last season that Ayala was a done deal. After tonight, it's not going to happen.

Financial reality kicks in, we make the best of what we've got.

came across to me that since they didn't get danns they wanted to spend the budget on bullard.

Interesting thought. I still think that if anyone would take Bullard and pay 90% of his wage, they'd snap their hand off. However, after Danns went elsewhere, they must have looked around and realised that without spending a transfer fee, the best option for creativity in midfield is probably Bullard.

I just can't get excited about Jimmy in a City shirt. Every tackle makes me wince.

i know what you mean about the tackles theo, but then i see this and get a little bit excited...
He didn't even slide tackle anyone to get the ball there.

Goals from 25 yards are one thing, but I'd like to see him run for balls he won't get, mouth off to the referee and break somebody's legs then, and only then, will I consider him to be a true Tiger. Skill is overrated.
