Conservatives give us a better chance of a second referendum. If Labour had won we wouldn't have had one any time soon.
Wait, you don't actually think the SNP are socialist, do you? A lot of their economic policies are very neoliberal.
If the SNP think their whitewash gives them mandate to force another independence referendum they are sadly mistaken. Huge chunks of their vote was by disillusioned Labour voters. SNP should take care to remember that.
Erm, I'm not an SNP supporter. I've said that before on this forum. However, the SNP do have socialist values. So much so within the space of 5 years they have wiped out all political opposition by talking to the "common man" and have won. Says it all, really.
[QUOTE"Jip Jaap Stam, post: 7907474, member: 1000013"]Labour never had a sniff in Scotland. If Labo d won overall, it would've been: "they'll have to get into bed with SNP, which means another referendum." If UKIP won, it'd be: "they like independence so we'll get another referendum." If Lib Dems: "The name Clegg sounds a bit Scottish so another referendum." Just accept it; you're British for the foreseeable future. Let it go [/QUOTE] Clegg is Germanic in it's origin. Bavaria to be precise Baron von Clegstien had a minor role in Kaiser Willhiems court. Unfortunately he only lasted about five years and then disappeared without trace. The Kaiser went on to **** up his country big style. Uncanny eh.
No. It has nothing to do with being Scottish. That's why this whole Scotland is now a aggressive nationalist country is such bollocks.
**** it, Dan. The only hope now is that things get so bad people realise what a mistake they've made. Ideally a party that could take a large proportion of the vote in England calling for parliamentary reform would emerge but I doubt it. Contrary to my posts I actually feel sorry for the left down south, at least those who don't ****ing blame us anyway.
I don't blame the Scottish. You want what's best for you. I don't blame the Tories or their supporters, either. They're looking out for number one, too. The last Labour government are culpable for this shambles, IMO. They ****ed the economy up so drastically that Joe Public is now terrified that they'll land us in the **** again, given half a chance. Cameron's used Ed Balls' "there's no money left" letter to great effect.
The country is entirely ****ed. The English have now given the Tories the mandate to run ****ing riot. In comparison, the last five years will be a time to look back in fondness saying "they were the days" The upshot of this new age of old style Thatcherism will be an even stronger support for an independent Scotland History tells us this is so. England and Scotland are now politically incompatible. As we veer left they are on a crash course to the right. Parting is such sweet sorrow but it is, inevitable.
