What a day that was, we had the weekend up there and hell knows how we drove back to Mansfield.

I'm just clearing the last few dregs of alcohol out of my clothes & bloodstream <doh>

If we have 4th in the bag and Hull need a point I can see us giving them it. Maybe not 3 but I could see us shaking hands on a draw. The reason being, with Phelan at that club, I can see United and Hull doing a deal to send some of our youngsters on loan there in future, if they're given PL experience it's great for us.

Like if 'Boro get up from the Championship, they'll get as many as possible from Chelsea due to Mourinho's relationship with Karanka.

At this rate though, I'd imagine we will need something from that game, whether we can take it is another debate.

Well spotted. I'll gladly take 2-3 against Chelsea again if all other details are the same !

I am afraid we won't do the great escape twice because of the 3 worst away games we could have had, we need to win 1 away game but where ? unless one team lose every game but 1 and we beat Leicester.

I wish I shared your optimism - I still don't and I still see us going down unfortunately - but I suppose me thinking that way will make it all the sweeter if we stay up!! If we beat Everton on Saturday then I will change my mind completely - and agree that we need probably one more point afterwards from the other three games (3 would be nice!)

If we do win on Saturday then that all but rules out bottom 2 - QPR would need 3 wins and Burnley would be 10 behind. The less that can catch us the better - if we Win on Saturday we'd be above Leics, Mags and Hull before they all kick off! Not getting any hopes up but will take a draw to be honest at Everton

and if we do win and draw against leicester and the mags fail to win against wba and qpr then we can sit safe on the last day knowing they cant catch us

Its strange how these same fixtures come up year after year, this system if you can call it that, needs looking at closely imo.

Everton have lost 13 games, just like us, and have nothing in particuar to play for.
Their defence has only conceded 4 less than us and we had an 8-0 defeat.

That's nowhere near the worst away game we could have, Hull or Leicester would have me much more worried.

So you're talking about match fixing?! Shaking hands on the draw?? Don't think so

No I don't believe it would. United old boys are managing, coaching and playing all over this league, there's no sentiment and there's certainly no corruption IMO

Corruption. I see it more as safeguarding your own future interests.

It's not sentiment at all, but I know how my club works, if you want to be spoon fed mate, look at Carlos Tevez's last game for West Ham and where he went after that.

I remember when we went down against Wimbledon at Selhurst on the last day, They basically invited us on to save ourselves but we were that **** we couldn't save ourselves. Ended up losing 1-0 to a young Carl Court out to make a name for himself. There's no doubt in my mind Wimbledon tried to assist us that day and there's no doubt in my mind this has happened many times since

If it was up to me I would abandon the loan system between Premier clubs as the only long term beneficiary of a more experienced player is the home club who get a better player or sell on at a price outside the funds of the loan club. Rich clubs, big pool of players, let them weed them out at their own exxpense
