    My tax last year would have covered the wage for a full time nurse, and a bit. Most of the money was made in Singapore from people who make more money than me and pay less tax as a percentage of their wage than me. I'm not sure why I should feel bad here.

    I'm planning to set myself up for retirement, mortgage-free, bit of money invested, reasonable pension fund, maybe a buy-to-let - then I'm going to buy a Harley and drive it off Beachy Head.

    If I was to sell everything up I could move back to Belfast now mortgage free, and probably have enough coming in to get by without working (maybe, just about). Although I'd be living in Belfast, with just enough money to get by. That's just asking for a speedy.

    Alternatively I could move to London and I'd have enough for a down payment for an ex-council house and I'd be working until I'm 70.

    No, but, seriously Mike, you could live a comfortable life in The Fens, or the East Midlands, don't rule it out.

    I genuinely got offered considerably more money a few weeks ago to move to Leeds and knocked it back to go for a modest wage in Malta. I've decided to stop being an arsehole and choose lifestyle. I'll probably be desolate in 5 years, voting Labour and crying in the Guardian's comments section every day.
