I was deeply saddened when I heard the club extended his contract. This for me showed the attitude of the club. O'shea is finished. This is his last season. He is running on empty. I now hear there is news of a two year deal for Vergini. Who is in charge of contracts and has anyone watched them play? Vergini is a liability. O'shea and Vergini will take us down. I have no doubts about that. O'shea is okay in the air. On the ground they are both awful. I predicted the would be roasted before the game by the pace of palace. Neither of these two should be in the first team. Let alone be given renewals. I can only see us getting championship football next season. I think both would struggle at that level. If the club feels these two players are the near term future of SAFC then I really do despair. There has to be better out there and cheap as well. Bring through the youth. Anything but these clowns.

I want to see a CB pairing of Jack Rodwell and Ryan Shawcross next season. A ball playing CB and a traditional 'Stopper' playing side by side.

Got to agree about Rodwell, he's way down the pecking order for England midfield but if he could make the transition to central defence he might have a future there. I remember watching the last player we changed to central defence and he was world class
