How good do you think it actually is? I think it is his strongest point as a gaffer and I would give him 8.5/10 there aren't too many disasters apart from Angeleri and Killgallon the rest even Da Silva have had some success.

I'm pleased with Bruce so far, the players he's splashed out on so far have been good (not sure about Wickham yet), he's been shrewd, and not payed 6 mil for Rio's brother!
Was happy till Brown signed even came round to the O'Shea deal eventually. Still think we need to shift some on sooner rather than later but who do we move on? For his transfers alone Bruce gets a 5 he has got equal amounts of dross and good not counting the loans there mind.
Seriously mate, you need to lighten up. O'Shea is one of the best all round footballers to come to this club in a very long time.

Well all I can say is that I am having wet dreams after all these signings - and at my age that is some achievement - everyone signed is a step or two up from where we were in my opinion

Big thing is, the club has never lost out hugely financially on the failures.

Anything when compared to keane is great. Although keane did sign Gordon Richardson and jones, they wernt bad signings.
Keane did well for us overall, although his "buy every available player and see who's good" policy was a smidgeon flawed IMO.
Dont get me wrong keane done great for us, put us back on the map, but financially could have destroyed us, the consortium were on the way down and we were lucky that Quinn brought short in.
Quinn saved us really. But Keane put us back on the radar, we could attract players also.
9 from me too, you can't judge Bruce on Brown yet, remember everyone going mad about Bramble?? He turned out to be a superb but of business. Brown could be just the same. As for Wickham, I think we could have Englands future top forward and he could be the buy of the century.

Reason being is that he only scored a few goals against some relatively poor sides in the Asian cup. What else am I supposed to score someone like that?
But I'm looking at the whole deal. Good player, but a very long contract for someone of that age. He'd be much higher if he was on something a little less longer.

It's a sound buy in every way. Obiously, the 8's, 9's and 10's can only be for top class players who are seriously amazing bargains. I'd probably score Tiote as a 9 or 10 to put it into perspective. Young, £3.5mill and is now an incredible player who is worth £20mill plus. That's the sort of deal which gets the highest scores, so how can someone like O'Shea be anywhere near that?

1: It will take him to 34, and its not like he will have much resell value anyway if we do sell him in 2-3 years
2: With this fair play thing, its done on length of contract, not all up front or even over 3 years, so it means to UEFA we can pay him more per week to get him to come in the first place, but its exactly the same amount per year, as UEFA just go on the last 3 years anyway
