Its popularity is driven by several factors
1....It affecting more sports than football/Hull City
2....Its being viewed as an attack on the community and its children
3....Its showing Allam up as the egotistical, tinpot dictator he is ( IMO)

The SMC turned a profit pre Allam and whilst I concede maintainance/running costs may have increased, its not inconceivable that someone with a track record and background in sports stadia/event management couldn't return it to the black and even make a megre contribution to HCC who provided the wonderfull facility all those years ago when BOTH its anchor tenants were on their arrises !!!

In fairness I do like seeing a pair of good bouncers.

You're missing the point here. Some on here like to think they're still angry youths in the 70s and 80s, rebelling against the man. This anger and protest is all they have to live for.

Like I've said in a previous post, if Dr Allam, quite rightly, says "**** ya", flogs the club to some fly by nights who just wanna make as much as quick as possible, and stops funding ALL of the community stuff he does, Hull as a city is seriously ****ed.

It won't be the fault of the pitchfork waving ****wits, and it won't be those same ****wits that suffer. They really do not care about all the community stuff, and for them, the dream is back to League 1 or 2, ****ty away trips, ****ty grounds all 75% empty, talking about the good old days. This is just yet another excuse for them to brandish their vile hatred against someone who's done something positive for lots of people.

They will be blaming the Allams for years to come, regardless of when they leave, much like the Mackems still blame Bruce for everything.

It's so sad looking in from outside.

    Where are they then?

You concede costs might have risen?

**** me. Nowt gets passed you does it?

Do you wonder if maybe maintenance is higher now as well? General costs? What about the amount of money being poured into FC? Think that might have a bearing too?

Course not, good as the day they were built aint they and FC are self sustaining aint they?

There can be no justification for the way this is being done. Many of us know how it feels.

I'm just pleased to see people standing up to the evictions this time and not too many trying to quieten down objections because it doesn't directly affect them.

Nowt was spent on it pre Allam because Adam Pearson put **** all into anything other than his and his bosses pockets. Hence why we dont have a proper academy until the Allams

I take it by its omission from your reply you agree with the start of my post ?
Tell me more about this money being poured into FC,and why does it matter to either Hull City/SMC/HCC if Hull FC are self sustaining in much the same way that its of no concern to Hull FC that City are millions in debt, albeit to their owner. My original point stands that BOTH anchor tenants were on their respective arrises when HCC provided The KC

How ironic then that since Adam Pearson took over Hull FC his biggest single investment area has been in the clubs academy and that this is bearing fruit with a number of academy products earning full time contracts and 1st team appearances.Allams done little with the academy, until he realised theres a shilling in it !!! also borne out by the number of academy graduates in Citys team

Does the light shine out of Allams arse? As a 'man of the community', he is doing quiet the opposite. More embarrassing is the people who even attempt to justify this latest farce. This is a community venue which should serve the community for the variety of reasons it already does. It should not be for one man to take away for his own ends at the expense of decent, hard-working local people.

Some people are forgetting the crux of the matter - it's a moral point.

We have a professional football club that generates around £70m a year evicting, at very short notice, amateur sports clubs that are mostly run
by volunteers who give THEIR time and energy free of charge.

And the irony is a lot of these people are City fans and they feel that they've been kicked in the teeth.

If the club had given notice of say 6 months and then pledged to help them find new venues it would have been accepted. Not ideal but nevertheless I'm sure
    it would have been.

However, it's the way it's been done that is most upsetting.

Absolutely no thought for those affected.

This could turn into the biggest and costliest in a growing list of Allams PR disasters

I'm sure no one would take this from a random businessperson from elsewhere, for it to happen from a man who is locally based makes it even worse. Like Chilton's Hundreds states, many people are affected unfairly by this through no fault of their own. These are people in my opinion who strive to make the City a better place by providing both sporting and social activities to people who really benefit from their dedication. This is a real kick in the teeth from people who deserve so much better. We all want the club to do well, but not at the expense of the community the club represents.

And we still don't know whether the Premier League will approve of the evictions. The in-door pitch will not be with the main academy and they need to approve it to upgrade our status.

I've probably got it wrong, but I'm convinced I've read somewhere that it's not enough for it just to exist, it's also got to have had a period of time in operation to show how it's being managed.

I haven't read the read the rules though, I think it was a bit I skimmed last year in the HDM.

OLM may be in luck. I've just seen a limo with a R1 R1 numberplate heading into the East Riding.
