For me, it once again highlights the need to get important - possibly game and tournament changing decisions, right. The simple use of 10-15 secs of video replay would have told the referee that Ibrahimovic deserved a yellow card, at best. That Costa should have had a penalty, and that both Luiz and Costa should not have been on the pitch to finish the game.

Why FIFA continues to refuse one can only speculate. Probably because that crooked old sack of ****e, Blatter, hasn't been offered enough by any of the potential providers.

"Which brings us back, as ever, to the suspicious dereliction of duty that is the continued refusal to use video replays. It is almost as if the powers-that-be do not mind allowing such scope for human error, such murkiness around match-altering verdicts. That cannot be healthy. And, indeed, it has the opposite effect to the one supposedly sought, as it undermines match officials. Referees themselves tacitly acknowledge this by being so reluctant to punish dissent, knowing that the protestors may very well be right."

My view exactly.

I entirely agree, as I've already stated.

Dozens of cameras at every top match yet the officials cannot see what every viewer can. Plain stupid.

Good result for Everton tonight, winning 2-1 after going behind at Goodison.
Still plenty of work to do in Kiev, but they've given themselves a good chance of going through.
Really need a result on the weekend in the league, though. Home v Newcastle, so it's one that they can win.

John Terry has blamed PSG for Chelsea's players surrounding the ref in their ultra-negative, crap Champions League performance.
They obviously forced all of Mourinho's cheats to do this, eh?

There's a ref in there, somewhere.

It's a part of the game, according to the Chelsea captain. It needs to stop being a part of the game as soon as possible.
Officials aren't going to perform well when they're put under pressure like this by scummy players encouraged by horrible, cynical managers.

I'm amazed the Chavs' antics haven't given the papers an idea: Spot The Ref

Does anyone hold the faintest hope that West Ham can pick something up from the Goons tomorrow?
Their trip to the Middle East seems to have injured about half of their players and their form's poor, too.
Only chance is if Wenger pisses about because of the Monaco game and gets it badly wrong, which I can't see happening.

I've predicted 3-0, but I am especially bad at predicting.

YV, deedub and Junction have all predicted Arsenal dropping points.

Problems with this? He works for Chelsea and is employed as a neutral pundit by the BBC.
We get enough of this bullshit from that club via their official channels. We don't need more of it via the backdoor, especially when we're paying for it.

There's a picture of Chelsea players milling around the ref and all wearing diapers. Ain't it the truth!

I've seen that picture too; it's an interpretation of Ibrahimovic's comment. Personally, I think their behaviour is a lot more cynical and calculated than that. Their not cry babies. More like bullies and con merchants. Or if you prefer, cheats!

The Beeb:

Watch Final Score, plus manager and player reaction after Premier League wins for Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and West Brom.

They also say we haven't been shut out away since our opening day 1-0 loss to West Ham. .

Also, what is it about Sherwood and out-of-favor/underperforming African players? Villa would seem a great place for Adebayor.
