I can only speak from experience mate.

I worked in the Ferrari pit areas, two years running, and grew to despise the whole thing.
Even the minor members of the crews, let alone the drivers, were totally dismissive of the public.
They were always taking the piss out of them tbh.

Absolutely true, I was just thinking the same.

Football is similar but at least the players will turn out to meet the supporters at branch meetings, etc and do community stuff.

The F1 drivers just rock up in one glamorous setting, after another, and don't seem to have any time for the people who support them.

They're probably more out of touch than Clarkson and co to be fair.

Everything I've seen from my own experience, with regards to motorsport points to the Irish, they should be the best drivers in the world, they're absolutely fearless and when you consider the Manx TT it's a no brainer, yet F1 is littered with well spoken mimsy lickers who never step out of line. They'd categorically refuse to deal with a daft Irish lad who spent his spare time trying to drink from the fuel hose, regardless of how much better he was than sleeping pill Hamilton.

Clarkson is a bit of a nugget to be fair, he thinks everything has to be funny and that's to his detriment on our overly PC television sets nowadays. Still, the guy earned his stripes as far as I'm concerned, not like some of the ****e coming off the 'talent' conveyor belt nowadays.

I don't think anyone that ugly, poorly groomed or out of shape should be as arrogant as he seems to be.

I forgive people if they've got a bit about them. I just don't see that he does.

I should point out I do find some of the special episodes they do pretty funny, quite cleverly written, well made and just decent entertainment.

But ****ing hell man, don't be a cock end Jeremy. What's the point in doing something well if you do it looking like a ****.

Clarkson may be a little close to the bone at times and I don't find him particularly funny, but he has built that Top Gear brand himself and deserves credit for that. I don't mind him. Plus he punched Piers Morgan which is a point in his favour.
I think Top Gear is a really good programme for a chilled out casual watch on a Sunday evening. Star in a reasonably priced car is really good TV. IMO this is a publicity stunt to bump viewing figures, it will be back before long with Clarkson back in the hot seat I reckon.

    Really?

You believe that not broadcasting 3 episodes is a good way of improving viewing figures .......... surely no one will be watching <doh>

I don't think you have to look good to be arrogant, Amir Khan is an arrogant **** and he looks like a pathetic little girls-body pigeon. Arrogance comes with status and a lot of the time, wealth.

I think I side with him because he makes Piers Morgan look like a **** more times than not, and anybody who does that generally gets the thumbs up from me.

He's also made a very lot of money from what is essentially moaning in his column he writes, he's watched that bloom into a money tree for him and he knows that people 'buy' that side of him, it's a character trait of his that makes him money... fair play to him for milking it.

Well it's gonna have to be somewhere half way then, if you leave it til when you're too pissed you'll end up paying more and getting a right grotbag itchy and scratchy.

There can't be much worse for you mate, than reaching over for ya morning Perrier after a night on the tiles and seeing some bloke stood doing your ironing in a skirt <laugh>
