Sunderland are coming to town soon boys, we've sold out again, there's only one away game this season we haven't. I expect both sets of fans to be up for this and plenty of noise. Midweek games are always better for atmosphere. I'm not expecting much with our current form and recent record against you, but, surely the tide has to change at some point!?

If it's the guy I'm thinking of, I know him. He looks after the Scandinavian fans when they come over for games.

I also agree about the Stoke atmosphere being a myth, I am of the opinion that Man Utd's home support gets a lot of undeserved stick as through my experiences they are generally one of the best home supports in the league for atmosphere, especially the Stretford end that place gets bouncing.

It's a british thing, he could have on top of his head for all it matter's. Chit chat about the weather, the price of eggs, the road works on the B 1342 but not the thing thats's unusual.
Ha ha spot on! Was saying to my wife that it's not even our colours and she said " tell him then " stupid woman. :emoticon-0136-giggl

It was quiet against us earlier this season until midway through the second half was the Stretford end.

I was in with them yesterday as I was last season as I couldn't get a Sunderland ticket. The atmosphere was really good and there wasn't many quiet periods at all.

Maybe the acoustics of the stadium don't let much of the sound travel to the away fans at the opposite end.

I thought some of the best away fans at the KC last year were the likes of Man U and Chelsea, as well as Newcastle which is perhaps less surprising.

I cannot see how Stoke manage to get nearly 10,000 more into the Brittannia then we can get into the KC.
Agree the away support was good yesterday.
Who is that bloke with the big white tiger under his arm?
I was near him at WBA and he was there again yesterday, he might be a bit of an odd bod but he sang virtually by himself throughout the second half.
I saw the television cameras turned round and pick him out in the second half so look out for him on 2 bad 2 good on MOTD2 tonight.

Britannia Stadium only holds just under 28,000 mate.

Could hear City fans for long periods in second half. Just watching Liverpool and up until their second goal you could hear the benches shouting.

They don't. The Britannia capacity is 27,740 so I'm not sure where you get the 10,000 figure from.

For most of the game the Stoke crowd/support was rubbish. Stoke fans are nothing like what has been reported.

The spectre of Tony Pulis still lingers on in the potteries.

Sunderland have sold out they always bring good support so lets hope the East and North stands are in full voice and yes why not the South, massive game for both clubs

The atmosphere in West Upper is dire, but I'm loathe to leave because of the view, which is just superb. How anyone can watch from pitch level or from one end is a mystery to me.

In previous years I had seats on the front row of West upper, directly on the half way line, so what might be considered the best seats in the ground. The last two years though I had seats on the second row up from the pitch, right behind the away dugout, and I much preferred those as you felt much more involved in the action and could see all the tactical work of Mourinho/Wenger etc.
