It's a Chinese saying/curse (though may also be Irish for all I know)..... "May you live in interesting times". Just as the people of the Crimea are now living in an "interesting" time or those residents of London in 1666 had an "interesting" time. It's a bit 'be careful what you wish for'. Dull is nice and predictable!

Thanks for placing that vague memory. I had an Irish American roommate my first year at college, who hung up a big banner with the Irish saying, "Many times a man’s mouth has broken his nose." For some reason ever since sayings I barely recall tend to become Irish in my addled recollection. But that’s right, it is, "May you live in interesting times."

Arseway were offered 7 million by the club and the club would find them new premises and fit it out for them, now all they can hope for is the market price, which will be a lot lower than the Spurs offer, and Arseway's owner is a business man???

I would not be surprised if Arseway wait until day 21 before lodging another appeal, they have been intent on delaying the NDP for as long as possible. I would love to know their motives (apart from ££££££ of course), they must have known their case is weak, seems they have been badly advised or are just wanting to delay things as long as possible.

Goes back to my question of who's footing the legal bill!...

Many Happy Returns Jimmy Greaves. I was lucky enough to be a regular when Jim was with us so saw him hundreds of times. We even went to his first game, in the reserves, at Plymouth Argyle. Forget the score but I know he got a couple. Happy days! Irreplaceable.

I remember when he was dropped and turned out for the reserves at Highbury. It made such big news that highlights of the game were shown on MOTD.

As a kid, I was behind the goal that he scored the overhead kick in his first home game against Blackpool. Part of a hat trick.

Given the whole irritating saga is borne out of them being a spiteful NIMBY, I hope when the time comes for compensation to be agreed it's set low. Preferably at around £1.

Happy birthday Jim,you old buggar!!!!!!Have many more and please be a regular at The Lane.
You scored so many goals they are too many to remember.
A couple of my favourites were the first in the Cup Final v Burnley, the first against Notts Forest (semi final at Hillsboro in a semi final.1967) and the penalty v Leicester at the Lane when Gordon Banks wasn't ready. He went raving bloody mad....

New York City FC play Orlando City 'SC' tongiht in a pre-MLS frendly. Two brand new 'franchises' for this season, otherwise billed as David Villa vs Kaka.

Link to the live stream here, commentary and camerawork are unconventional to say the least: http://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2015/02/20/stream-orlando-city-vs-nycfc-sat-730pm

Orlando lead at half-time through a long-range Kaka strike, otherwise, the quality has been dire.

Getting back to Jimmy Greaves and his recent 75th birthday, there was a decent sized piece in today's match day programme on Jimmy. Also, Paul Coyte, our official match day host, wished Jimmy a very Happy Birthday during his half time entertainment feature. He also expressed a keenness to get Greavesie back to the Lane in the near future.

Hopefully this means the club is willing to make the first initiatives towards a reconciliation with Jimmy and we will have the pleasure of welcoming him back to the Lane very soon.

Prepare to be terrified by the player masks we've released for the COC Final...

Now I'll just go sit in a corner and hope I don't get anymore flashbacks to Comstock House...

She was simply recreating Arsenal's night, which the media appear to have overlooked.
Wearing red, looking like she's on the way to the top, then getting unexpectedly caught out and crashing down on her arse.
Imagine that the platform in front of her is the next round of the Champions League and you've understand her metaphor:

The whole Spanish theme represents the clubs that they could've faced, had they gone through. <whistle>
