I guess that is one of the reasons they disappeared for many years despite being v famous. I used to live not far from there (many years ago) and it is only a small town -population approx 40000. I suppose the ratio of spectators to population isn't than different to ours 1200:40000 / 7000:250000 but i have no idea how they survive with so little revenue coming in. I feel yr pain with the wallpaper -I did a similar feature wall of London landmarks and it drove me scatty.

Just a small glass of red before an early night in preparation for tomorrow's away day.

I reckon it was a masochistic female who came up with those bleddy picture walls. I did think about going to the away place tomorrow for once but decided not to bother in the end. Can't do running away anymore and my fighting days have long since passed me by. Have a safe one anyway.

Thanks, should be fine -travelling in the 'Chairman's coach' (or at least the same one that he is on) and sat in the WTS stand with my son. To be honest I have never been caught up in any violence up there(even when we were in the 'home' end many years ago) and I think it is fairly easy to steer clear of any trouble these days. Not sure we would have gone either this year if it was standing only. Some drunken yoof kindly vomited on my shoes last season which kind of put me off a bit. Oddly, tomorrows seats will mean I have watched the 'devon derby' from all 4 sides of their very mediocre stadium. I actually think we will win, but from recent history it wouldn't surprise me if we have an 'off' day.

Trouble is the Chelski incident shows that not all idiots have been put down just yet. We still have one or two Cavemen of our own by some of the taunting I heard at the home fixture. Youth trying to prove something having heard the stories of the past. (Shan't say anything about riding in the shiny bus)

I only went away to Exeter once and I have never been so afraid when we left ..... Exshitter fans one side of the road and us the other with just a few policeman who wouldn't have been able to stop anything even if they had wanted to .... we went down a side road and walked parallel to the other road and ended up walking smack bang into it all again .... never been so relieved to get back to the car lol

Took my son to West Ham when he was around 7 or 8 for a treat. Great all game as sat in their stand and the locals made him especially more than welcome. Problem came at the end when the Police herded, and there isn't another word for it, all of the people down a road to the tube station. That was whether you wanted to go there or not. The intimidation came from them not the fans who were pretty much well behaved. It reminded me of a war film along the lines of Shindler's List. The Police really were that bad and intimidating.

To be honest I wasn't looking forward to being pulled over by D&C's finest today- mainly because I didn't see the point of stopping a 32 seater coach with mainly 40+ somethings and James Brent onboard ; we are hardly football hooligans. However, stopped we were, along with the 3 official coaches and I have to say what an advantage it was. 5 X motorcycle outriders + 3 or 4 cars, all with blue lights flashing, escorted us from Haldon Hill right to the entrance of the ground. They stopped all the traffic , ignored the red lights and cut the journey time by at least 50%. That they did the same after the match and on the way out of Exeter was even more impressive. Not sure it was the best use of D&Cs resources but it sure made our journey a whole lot easier. As an aside, I didnt see any trouble today- Luke got a bit of a hard time by their fans but all the Exeter staff i came into contact with were excellent.

I commented on the crowd at the last Accrington home game so had a look at tonights efforts considering they were playing the league leaders........919........yes that really was the crowd. Unbelievable. And they won. Unbelievable.

.....and some of them would be promotion chasing Burton fans.....how many Accrington fans can you get in a mini....nearly all of them.

Ps......some of them would have stayed home to watch Messi miss a penalty.

Given they are top it doesn't say much about Burton fans either does it. ok it's a Tuesday evening game and there is Champions League stuff on the box but even so, if that was Argyle there would be upwards of 500 there minimum. Never totally up on the geography of the midlands upwards but it surely isn't that far apart town wise.

That's hardly a mega trip is it. I think that sort of attendance figure is shocking and I thought their last one was that with this one being 25% less. How do they not go bust.......again.

Yes but we aren't top of the league are we plym and Accrington fans were the home side. You simply cannot run a professional outfit with those sorts of numbers.

where is everyone?, I busted a gut to post an early match report and everyone has ignored it. I have also worked out I scored a miserable 2(i think) in the prediction thingy. On my own (as Mrs Lyndhurst is out for dinner with chums) so it will be all night watching the cricket followed by Liverpool at 1200 on Sunday followed by the rugby at 3. Taking Monday off to catch up on sleep/recover!

Just having a cheeky bottle of Australian Merlot- anyone care to join me?

ha ha there is life out there.

    you are welcome
Quite a nice one, quite fruity with a hint of vanilla and cherries with a burnt leather after taste. In special offer at a very large supermarket near Marsh mills.

I suspect mrs Jools is still in character!
