This is just the start of footbal supporters trying to take some control over our game and our club.
It's the start of a football trust doing what all football trusts do.
Puffing out their chests, making themselves feel important without a cat in hells chance of ever doing anything?
In my opinion, apathy from football fans has allowed the wages of the players to rise to obscene levels and owners to believe it is "their game" whilst supporters are asked to pay an ever increasing percentage of their earnings (either via Sky subscriptions or at the turnstiles) to watch the game they love. Perhaps the HCST is the start of a movement that may address the imbalance. Surely worth a try?
Its the start of what a small number have done, not what all do. At least according to your press release.

A lot of clubs don't have trusts, but the grounds subject to ACV's currently include Oxford, Halifax, Leicester, Charlton, Dulwich Hamlet, Peterborough, Derby, Leyton Orient, Donny Rovers, Rochdale, Tranmere, Swindon, Macclesfield, Newcastle, Man United, Bury, Blackpool, Birmingham, Stockport, Hereford, Liverpool, Ipswich and Blackburn and all will do it over time.
Several trusts have contacted us since we issued our release, for advice on how to apply. As I said, trusts doing what trusts do.
Can only be a positive thing. One question if anyone knows the answer, whilst it is an ACV if the council, or the owner at time, wanted to sell the stadium for building development, the fact that it is a ACV stop this happening, or would they have to wait until the end of the 5 years which the ACV is in place for?
It doesn't prevent any development, it just means we'd have to be informed of any proposed development and we'd be given 4 1/2 months(if we requested it) to try and raise the money to buy it ourselves(which wouldn't be a realistic proposition at this time).
Thanks OLM, it does seem a bit of a toothless bit of legislation, but better than nothing I guess.
