Precisely..........Dowd was piss poor last night

Dowd was ****e, and ****e for both teams, but I think he was more ****e towards us because of the bigger decisions going against us

He wasn't going to give the blatant penalty on Sturridge
He gave Gerrard a yellow for a good tackle
He gave Kane's offside goal

Smaller things like the most obvious corner ever given as their goal kick didn't matter as much and was probably about even

.

Football discussion, banter and rivalry must be very low key in your neck of the woods bod.<whistle>

Ap norf we tend to tell it like it is.<grr>

All I see is whining.
Non stop....
Its not one particular set of fans, I am saying this on the Liverpool board, but I dont particularly think overall that one set of fans are worse than others (Except maybe Astro, who, in my 4 years on here, I dont think I have seen a single Liverpool match day thread where he hasnt bitched about an referee decision).

Its mostly subjective.....and hard to call on the fly.
I am not saying refs are perfect, they make wrong decisions all the time.
But if a player mistimes a tackles and doesnt get booked, and your player is fine and isnt injured, what exactly have you lost from that tackle? Nothing, you both still have 11 players, your guy isnt injured, the ref didnt see it or thought it wasnt bad....play on....
The opposition havent been given any advantage.

If someones leg gets broken then thats a whole different matter.

TBF, that one was the other lino, not Dowd

****ing hell, this one does my head in more than the "we dominated the game" bullshit.
EVERY ****ING matchday thread I see, and this is mainly United AND Liverpool fans, but sometimes Gooners too.
Every other post.

"How was that not a yellow"
"He should have seen red"
"ref showing manc/dipper/l'arse bias again"
"Ref ruined the game, motherfucker stole my biscuit"

The game is 11 vs 11, if you cant beat the team unless you get a 1 or 2 player advantage, then you don't deserve to win.
Stop relying on the other team to lose a man to get a result.

This would probably happen on the Chelsea board too, if it had any life in it.....but really guys come on...
Just for once can we have a game where people aren't crying like little bitches "Wahh he should have been sent off wahh".

Waiting for the typical response to a genuine concern.......

Who's asking for cards or players sent off?

All I want is the rules (e.g. offside) applied correctly and fouls treated consistently (both during a game and from game to game)

Liverpool are one of the best teams in the country and in a "fair" game will win far more than often than not, so refs ****ing things up with their ****eness only hurts us more than the occasional time it might help us

You also have to realise that things you don't agree with or dislike stick out like a sore thumb. There are plenty of honest posters about that would happily say the referee got it right or wrong not matter which team it favoured

We did. <ok>

Bit of overreaction here, Bod, imo. People bang on about refereeing decisions all the time, and it has far more to do with the personality of the fan than the team they support. I'm guessing you see it more on the boards that you mentioned because you spend more time on said boards than say, the Stoke or Sunderland ones (if they have one:)).
It's natural for a fan to feel more aggrieved when bad decisions go against them, but only a small number actually believe it's a conspiracy.

Personally I thought Dowd was rubbish last night- a couple of the Spurs bookings were harsh as well as some of ours. Gerrard's tackle that led to the goal wasn't even a foul, for me, never mind a card, and Kane was offside. I'm sure Spuds fans can point to a couple of other incidents that they felt were unfair.
It's football, and banter between fans often descends into a cock-waving competition- as long as it's not abusive there's no real harm in it.

Of course, some of us want to discuss things as objectively as possible and put the partisanship on the back burner, and there's room for that as well.

Where do I get tickets for the cock waving competition? :emoticon-0126-nerd: Surely not from the "box" office....

I too was going to point out the cringeworthiness of this entire sentence.
If anything, the bigger clubs "supposedly" get more favourable decisions, especially when playing at home.

I'd sooner have the cock-waving comp <laugh>
