The more I hear things and rumours from the club, the more I believe Rodgers will be off in the summer (fired).

He promised the board youth players being brought through yet hasn't done that - Flanno and Sterling had already broken into the squad and were only played when Rodgers had injuries. Sterling took the chance and kept it. Flanno was touted around because Rodgers wasn't keen. Ibe has only been brought back into the squad because the board basically forced him to play some kids.

He asked the board for more money in January and was told, simply, to bugger off and use the youth. He was also told there wasn't enough youth in the first team and needs to use more of our brilliant academy. So he recalls Ibe as the better performing one.

He has been repeatedly told by the board to stop speaking so freely in the media regarding players, signings and contracts yet as Sterling shows, still does.

He won't take advice regarding new coaches coming in because he believes he's the man who can do it all on his own and completely refuses to work under a DF who can at least get the signings and youth progression sorted.

Never mind the dire team selections, obvious favouritism at the expense of results and increasing fan frustration at times.

I feel they're loosing patience with him; awful signings, wasting money without improving the necessary areas, asking for more money even after doing so, not playing the kids, poor performances til late (we all know why), not keeping his mouth shut in the media and arrogance towards not accepting help. He's touch and go for next season tbh...

If he gets top 4 and/or a trophy there's no way he goes IMO, and even if he gets no trophy and EL but good performances and momentum he should be ok

Agreed.

Even if he does get top 4, I wouldn;t be surprised if he goes providing we get a better option like Simeone, DeBoer or Klopp.

No one at the club is immune from upgrade.

I'd rather play the players we've brought in like Can, Markovic, Manquillo, Moreno than just promote some 17 year old from the youth academy for the sake of it...

Of course they're not going to say drop all the current crop, but they will tell him to bring more through to supplement the first team and not just buy young players from elsewhere - cut back on the spending (rather, just give him less). The board are not happy with him for various reasons (see my first post) and that is why I think his time is running out..

So you're suggesting the board will sack him wherever he finishes? As conspiracy theories go this is Sisu-esque. If you want a conspiracy theory about Ibe being recalled I'd suggest trying one that relates to Sterling not signing his new contract yet......

As for the youth system I 100% agree that the Academy still isn't working but if the board lays all the blame for that at Rodgers door then they need lining up and shooting. How many youth players came through the Academy under the previous managers? How many did Rafa bring through our academy? Woy? Kenny? It was set up at a time when we actually did bring players through and ever since we've seen it produce absolutely no one other than Spearing and Flanagan (kids who may well have made it through our old system anyway). Is this entirely Rodgers fault? No. Has he improved things? Well how can you judge a manager on youth set up alone when he's only been at the club for two and a half seasons? Youth systems take a lot of time to produce results by their very nature. You never see the full impact of any changes you make for years.

If (and it's a big "if") they have plans to sack him for this then maybe they should be channeling their energies into helping get the Academy set up better rather than plotting and scheming against the manager. Imagine they sacked him for that, who exactly would the new manager bring through from our youth team? How long would we have to give him while he revamped the Academy and waited for results from it, 5 years? 6 maybe? Yet supposedly we are only giving Rodgers half that time....hardly seems fair surely

The more you put your point across the more I am inclined to ask you whether you are privy to board meetings and have the minutes to these discussions of the board not being happy. If the board wanted youngsters from the academy, they would not have given him 200 million to spunk. It is inconceivable that on one hand they want youngsters coming through and yet they are willing to finance a squad outside that same academy.

So what if he was told to recall Ibe? It seems a better decision than to buy another 10 million plus player. Just like last winter window we did not buy anyone and the conclusions were that top 4 was gone. Now we didn't buy anyone it is because Rodgers will be fired at the end. How you arrive to that conclusion doesn't make sense at all.

Flanno, Ibe and Sterling is three. there are a few others such as Wisdom, Williams, Rossiter, etc that have been in and around the first team too. Its not one player.

NB: I counted Sterling because he was bought and in the youth setup before FSG came in.

Plus, as Biscan says, if the youngsters are't good enough then what can Brod do? I understand you are second guessing what the board will be thinking rather than posting your own view here too. I just think FSG will be a little more logical than you're suggesting
