The Official Don't Sack Rodgers (Sort Of) Thread

  1. I'd considered Studge prior to posting that comment. He does make a big difference to us but he's still only one player. Clubs like Man City and Chelsea will keep him quiet knowing no one else in the squad can score.

See your point but put Studge on the end of the many chances Sterling had and it's a different ball game, he wouldn't have scored every one but he'd have scored a lot more.

  4. As I said, he definitely improves us, no doubt about it. Hopefully having Studge back will take some of the pressure off Sterling now too.

Beating our rivals is priority IMO and the next few league games are massive.

Agree, If we want top 4 we need to beat Arsenal S'hampton Spurs and United and do pretty well in the other games winning most and drawing some.

Usually you can draw the rival games and do well on consistency against the bottom teams but our crap start ****ed that

A season of 6 pointers is more interesting anyway, assuming we don't immediately mess it up

Let's win all our games in the next 30 days and go from there #nojinx

I would be happy with 7 points. Anything less we'll be struggling to keep up with the top 4 challengers. The problem I see is that the others will be getting at least 7 points too.

We need to get the wins and we need the others to lose. I must say that I am surprised at the Spurs so far. Arsenal are starting to get motoring but Spurs under Pochetino seem to have more steel.

In the event they keep pace with us we need to beat them, well Spurs and Arsenal I'd like to win in the chase for that 4th spot, we wanna beat United no matter what the circumstances

There's a BS who goes in my local (top lad in spite of that) who hasn't missed a home game this season. He's selling his ticket for the Derby as he's convinced Gerrard will score a hat-trick <laugh>

Happy with Lennon, always liked him tbh.

He'll give us some real pace and genuine width, which is where we've been lacking, plus I think our system will suit his game.

  17. Really wishing I'd asked you about this when the rumour came up yesterday as I don't think you'd have been keen <laugh>

I think its a good signing TBH. He gives you some much needed pace and I reckon he'll be eager to go having been out in the cold at Spurs. He'll be dangerous against us, especially with us not playing FBs. Hopefully, he'll lack match sharpness atm though

Nope. I actually brought him up on our board yesterday, before he was confirmed.

I would mind seeing him coming off the bench with 25 left facing up to Sakho...........

  20. I'd be happy with that. If you'd said other defender I'd have been concerned but not Sakho <ok>
