Mirror reporting Chuba has signed http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-starlet-chuba-akpom-signs-5096072
With us getting in Paulista and Coqs playing well, we really didn't have a major urgency to bring anyone new in. We are also playing well at the moment and appear to be getting better. We have enough cover for pretty much every department and bringing in someone new right now could be counter productive. Also is Chuba a good signing? I haven't seen much of him but if he is of similar quality to Gnabry, then he is worth signing up. Though it's probably best he goes out on loan as he will see very little game time with us.
Thank goodness we have signed Akpom. He's got major potential. Just from his brief cameo on Sunday, he has the natural instinct. Can't wait to see more of him.
It appears Liverpool and Dortmund made approaches for the lad this January. Looks like he has real potential. I think Crowley is the one to watch though. Kid looks TOP class.
Akpom is like a bigger version of Anelka from Arsenal.com Talented striker Chuba was an integral part of the youth set-up last season, scoring 15 times in his 23 appearances for the academy sides.
Akpom is a beast and a proper athlete. He looks like he's got the skill and understanding of the game too. Very promising player.
Spot on. Anelka was immensely talented and up there with the likes of Henry. In fact, he was hitting a higher level at a younger age, not many were as talented as him at such an age. So if the comparisons are true, then we have a very talented player on our hands.
Anelka would have been world class and possibly better than TH14 if it hadn't been for his money grabbing brothers
Totally agree. He was making really good progress with us but for his mental side. What he failed to understand was the need for grounding and experience to take him further. Arsenal would have provided him with that but he foolishly believed the hype and listened to bad advice. Just imagine an Anelka&Henry partnership. Scary.
If he'd stayed with us he would have won two more leagues and two more FA cups (assuming we would have won those four trophies with him as striker and not Thierry Henry who was a step above him whatever anyone says). For that reason I'm sure he's regretting his foolish decision to leave Arsenal and win the Champions League, Serie A, Premier League again, FA Cup again and Turkish Super League.
I'm sure that Anelka was quoted as saying that he regretted leaving Arsenal. If he'd stayed and realised his full potential it is more than possible that we'd have won more trophies. In my opinion it is hard to compare Henry to Anelka as one realised his potential whilst the other didn't
You honestly think it's 'more than possible' that we'd have won more trophies with Anelka instead of Henry (because we wouldn't have had both)? Senile...
Becayse we we used the money from the sale to buy a new training ground and a mediocre winger from Juve who AW then turned into TH14
But this is a fantasy, hypothetical situation - I didn't realise there were caviates to what could/might have happened if he'd stayed.
