Are we really slagging off Lennon for not wanting to come to us, when we don't yet know if he's said anything at all? I don't know if Lennon is really the right signing for us, but until I hear from him that he didn't want to come, I'm assuming he'll sign tomorrow.
Lennons a good player and the sort of player we should be going for, other than his final ball he's better than Elmo. We just don't need him at this time, we need players in other positions first
Should be used to the overreactions by now OLM. This forum (some of them!) are getting good at it. Lose -> "sack Bruce" Win -> "we're going to finish top 10" Player doesn't sign -> "didn't want them anyway/blame Assem" Player signs -> "they're better than Messi"
Seems someone on twitter went to the trouble of setting up a fake BBC Sport site and posting the Mirallas/Lennon swap had gone through.
He's miles ahead of any wingers we have, anyone who says they don't want him are ****ing mental. The problem isn't that he wouldn't be a great signing because he would, the problem is it's that Bruce will play him up front in a 3-5-2.
Well if he is not coming it is pointless, but I think he would have been a good signing, we need a player that can get to the byline more often, as that create more goal scoring opportunities.. Elmo managed it in the first half when Davies nearly scored. l
Elmo is usually our main or in some cases only threat, and playing him at right back nullified his effectiveness to 0%. If only we had Rosenior fit, him at right back and Elmo on the right wing would be perfect.
But Elmo seems to prefer coming from deep and attacking the full back, he never makes a run without the ball in behind the full back he always wants it to feet, so I actually think right back suits him.
The problem with Elmo is that he is virtually our only threat and as with Ameobi on Saturday, opponents have sussed that now and by pressing him high up they nullify our ability to score. That being said I don't see Lennon as the answer. All the times I've watched him play he gets into great positions but hardly ever delivers quality into the areas that matter.
Apart from the fact that he can't defend and his positioning goes completely out of the window. Despite that, Bruce seems to agree with you, he always seems to try him in that position and then the next game changes the formation to 3-5-2, he never learns his lesson.
