Pace up front, playing out from the back, full backs offering support going forward. At last it looks like we might be playing to some of our squads strengths.
Off to build a snowman he will stand a better chance if scoring than Grabban, after that late miss last week how do you make that decision?
The benefit of a new manager is to freshen things up. No doubting Grabban can get goals. He just needs to get his confidence back. What seems certain from AN's selection is that if anyone doesn't perform they can't expect to make the team the next game. Hooper and Jerome first victims.
You've just blown my who slates Grabban first game, I went for the 7th minute Never mind I'll turn it into a drinking game and take a shot every time someone moans about him. Hope I have enough booze in the house.
Grabban scored most of his goals for Bournemouth last season as a counter-attacking lone striker and I'd guess that's the intention here. Also a more mobile defence playing a high line to make it difficult for Brum and also leaving the defence less exposed.. A big gamble, IMO, but it could work.
Now that Alex Neil has shown himself to be the third manager to select Rusty at centre-half can we please now cease with the absolute bullshit about how Neeyul Adams only played him there because Rusty pressured him into it as he enjoys playing there? Agree it's an odd one playing Grabban up top on his own, but I like the team and formation apart from that. Looks like it's counter-attacking stuff today, which I have absolutely no problem with at all, particularly away to a side with their tails up. It's a style that has worked for Alex up north so let's hope all the players know what is expected of them and perform their duties to the required standard. There should be goals in this today so I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if it ended up 0-0. COME ON YOU YELLAS!!!!!
no doubts we need to change things but not really sure about this line up, but what do i know...., it has got the feeling of another one of these 'experiments' though, lets really hope this works out. Confidence will be very fragile if we dont get another win soon....
Very few games this season have we looked balanced. Interchange Hoolahan with Vadis or Howson. Switch Martin to RB and Turner come back in. This is solid. Then it's a three way fight up front and Grabban gets first chance to shine. No idea why - but more excited than for ages before kick off. New dawn and all that. OTBC
Well, I'm bemused by the team selection, but then what do I know, as I'm only a fan. I'm hoping his team selection does work, but I'd like to see some of the younger players given more of an opportunity to prove themselves.
Anyone know why the Norwich commentary isn't working on Player? Having to listen to the Brum commentators, better than nothing I guess
I just don't get the insistance with playing Martin a CB. It ain't as though it's done us much good so far this season. For me if your going to play Bassong then he should be playing alongside Turner. Hoolahan would not start a game for me, although I think he could have a role as an impact sub. I would rather give McGrandles a chance. I would play Jerome or Hooper ahead of Grabban any day of the week. I'm starting to give up any hope of us finishing in the top 6, let alone getting out of the championship this year.
Bit ridiculous, I'm sure we can make up three points in the next 18 games. And have you actually seen McGrandles play?
I keep hearing there's plenty of time. But you know what there's getting less time each week and we're not taking our chances (i.e. Brentford last week) and seem keen to continue to with try things that haven't worked (i.e. playing Martin at CB). It's not like any of the teams above us are faltering.
