I am missing my first away derby for some time, my son is referring at ITFC academy for the first time that morning, we entertain Fulham academy, so not able to make the early KO, it gives me no plessure to say that I think it will be a fortunate missed game for me!
We should be in the top two spots with the squad we've got. There are plenty of games to go but until the team start putting together a convincing run of games and the results go our way then we can only speculate.
Every time someone says 'we should be', or 'premier league squad' it sounds like the kind of stuff most people hated about QPR fans when they were in this league. There is a huge difference between good players, good teams and good results. So many people wanted Hughton out, even though he kept us out of the relegation places. Then people wanted Neil Adams out, even when he had just taken us top of the league. When will fans realise we are the definition of an unsettled club - foremost because of the fans themselves. The more ours fans try to unite behind players, manager and board, the sooner we can begin to regain some credibility, harmony and quality. Right now some of our fans make us look like a joke. If it was so easy getting out of the Chsmpionship, why aren't Fulham and Cardiff competing, or Wigan or a whole load of other clubs with 'Premier League' squads.
No ****ing way, he had a great time here but the parting was just too bitter and acrimonious for Judas to come back I'm afraid
Totally and utter spot on EastEndCanary We were actually pretty 'spoiled' for 3 years while Lambert was around. Now we're back scrapping for every point, every ball, some people's expectation levels are still back in those heady Lambert days. Reality check, time, sadly - we're in a scrap, along with 23 other teams with exactly the same aspirations!
Nothing wrong with having expectations. In the summer we didn't hire the right person, we needed a manager who could unite and motivate a squad of demoralised players, the board let the fans down, there is nothing unreasonable in calling out their mistakes. The players are human beings and we all make mistakes, but they put in performances against players leagues above to the likes they're up against at the moment, they need to have more belief in their abilities. Most fans are united behind Alex Neil, his got a difficult task ahead of him and has had little time to prepare with a squad his inherited. Crackhead owners? Lost a lot of their players? two entirely different entities with their own internal issues.
Very well said EastEndCanary and until the fans lower their expectations, you will always get 'the boo element!!!'
