There was a distinct lack of atmosphere today - very quiet at times. The ironic cheering when Whittaker went off was the loudest the crowd was all day.
Judging by a number of Brentford fans on Twitter, that was by some distance their best performance of the season, so perhaps that combined with a poor performance our end, and missing key midfielders meant it was 'just one of those days'. Win at Birmingham next week and we'll be back in the mix but I think top two is now incredibly unlikely
He lacks experience barely wet behind the ears and the rough and tumble relentless nature of the Championship is challenging enough for seasoned managers let alone rookies!
Means absolutely nothing. If he's 'got it', and there is more pointing in that direction than against it, he'll get either these lads or a new group playing as a team. His Hamilton side played the best football in Scotland with absolutely no budget. He's had non stop success as a manager so far. You may try and belittle him but until he's had time to make progress with us nobody will expect miracles.
See my response to Warky. I'm off now. Not interested in all the Ipswich nonsense to be honest. Very very boring
Not apparently when the style is good! Don't shoot the messager, im just going by what boys have been preaching to us all season.
First things first I remember another chance where a Norwich player hit the bar and the Brentford goalie made a fine save at the rebound but I'm not looking to clutch at straws - we didn't create enough. Yes Whittaker had a poor game but he was not the sole reason for us losing. Playing a 4231 with a midfield consisting of two midfielders, two strikers and a defender was what hampered us. Johnson, I thought played reasonably well today but I don't deem him to be a good play-maker or a good ball-winner. To me he is just a general utility midfielder. Whittaker, we know likes to get forward and often gets caught out of position. He was brought into the team today in central midfield and just did his normal thing. He made one particularly costly mistake and didn't contribute much to our attack but he wasn't head and shoulders below everybody else in a yellow shirt today. It is strange that we have so many midfielders out through injury or suspension and although Whittaker did a poor job at CDM I honestly can't say anybody else who AN might have picked would have done any better. The performance was poor but I dare say it might have been enough to get a result against one of the division's more lacklustre sides. Brentford, having come up from L1 are in the Top 6 on merit despite small financial outlays and can not be labelled as a poor side. They deserve credit for taking advantage of Norwich attempting to coast through the game. We still have a week of transfer window; I for one would like to see use use that time well. Hopefully we can avoid our players jumping ship but we could be looking to improve at CB, RB/LB, CM and RM/LM.
