I'm still not convinced Supers, as IMO opinion there was far more wrong today than just a bad day at the office or injuries. I know you have faith in him and I will also support him as long as he is our manager but today was a big setback and there weren't many pointers in the good direction that I could see.

I have more faith in him than Adams. Lots more. But that wasn't difficult. We were crap today. Brentford were excellent. Just shows how much work needs to be done. Top two is out of the question now imo

He's also only been in charge for two weeks! He hasn't got a clue what his best team is yet. He needs to find out quickly and get them organised defensively because I get the feeling there's been little attention given to that side of our game this season

Interesting news about Bassong emerged today as well. Seems the rift was actually more down to Adams ego than Bassong's! Hopefully he will feature in the heart of our defence again soon.

Needs to Supers - Cuellar and Turner don't look a secure pairing - they don't gell and don't complement each other. Hopefully a resurgent Seb will stabilise the soft centre of our defence.

    Really???? Say it ain't so!!!

I'm just waiting for the "patience" mantra and a stream of excuses to come out for this guy, you know, the ones that didn't apply to Neil Adams.

But then I suppose he deserves it, he was born a manager and has had nothing but "non-stop success" so far in his career, complete opposite from our previous manager and his "massive ego" who clearly had absolutely no idea what he was doing and will never ever be a manager as long as he has a hole in his arse.

For ****s sake can we please stop with the anti-Neil Adams propaganda please, it really is starting to get embarrassing <doh>

Was he shagging your missus or something? The level of dislike you apparently have towards the man simply astounds me, you are starting to sound desperate using any possible opportunity to belittle him. Never seen this kind of thing from you before, just seems out of character and makes me wonder if you actually do have an agenda against him.

Change the record. Adams was crap, that's why he's out of a job and will probably never get a managerial post again. This guy has no pre season to figure out his team and one week in which to make changes - of course he'll get some time. But if yesterday was anything to go by, he won't last long either. Needs big changes.

I was so disgusted with our 'no show' yesterday, that I felt unable to comment. I was at the Cardiff game last Saturday and I found it hard to believe that 10 of the 11 players in yellow and green had played last week, as for a lot of the game it looked as though they had hardly played together. The Hooper/Jerome pairing which has been lethal in some games just never got going. Martin who had had a terrific game last week was shocking and I would not have wanted to be the match sponsor and trying to pick out a MOTM from that display.

Rant over and let's hope the team turns up at the rest of our games between now and the end of the season and we do SOMEHOW make it into the top 6. Time for Alex Neil to show what he can do and yes, I know he was hampered by injuries/suspension to midfielders, but why oh why play Whittaker in midfield??? He was an embarrassment!!!

Edit - I have not read through previous posts!!!

And just for the record, I wanted Uwe Rosler, not Alex Neil. I know as much about as you do but at least what we have heard is positive. However, I do know a lot about Neil Adams and thank **** he is no longer our manager. It was getting to the point where I'd rather have had Warnock. Scary.

Couldn't be arsed to read all the posts but it seems to me that Adams had about 30 games including preseason and didn't do that well- the new manager has had 2 weeks in charge- and can't be judged on the first few results- good or bad- if after 10-15 games there is no sign of a more cohesive team then I'll be concerned

For more than two years now these players have had the ability to put some insanely bad home performances in at random intervals. Yesterday was almost par for the course for these guys. I really hope this isn't linked to Phelan leaving because I was really disappointed by that, even though no surprise. Given the record of our team lately, I suspect not.

So I'm not going to judge Neil on that. And we were definitely players short which, for our squad size, is ridiculous.

But Neil better sort it out quickly, not for his job (which I think is relatively secure as it goes) but because playing like that every so often knocks you out of promotion races no question. Dare I say it, we are looking more and more like last year's QPR.

I agree pretty much with this although I don't think that it will take as many changes as your suggesting in the summer if we fail to get promoted. We probably need to move on 6 to 8. A few players also need to be put in their place and there needs to be more competetion for some places.

I've seen many comments suggesting that the decisions Neil took demonstrates he doesn't have a clue and is not up to the job, which is nonsense. It takes time to change the way a team plays and Neil hasn't had it. The decision to play Whittaker in midfield wasn't outrageous although for me 4-1-4-1 with Johnson holding would have been a better choice and I would have liked to see McGrandles play at least one half. I also suspect that playing Turner & Cuellar as a CB pairing would be some way off his first choice. Although it's easy for us all to be wise with the benefit of hindsight.

IMO LS assesment is spot on

It's not as though we got smashed and without the penalty we could have got a draw, which would have been 7 points from 9, (against 2 top 6 teams & an ex premiership team) which everyone would have been happy with a couple of weeks ago.

It is worth mentioning that the Brentford boss said their performance was "without fault".

So this was a team with sky high confidence, playing out of their skins. I don't doubt for a minute that we don't have the best squad in the division, but it's actually by a narrow margin so when a team is playing practically perfectly, we're always going to struggle. And Grabban missed a good chance, Johnson hit the cross bar, the keeper made an excellent save from the rebound off a Jerome strike and an earlier solid save from Hooper. So it was hardly as if we didn't have the chance despite playing badly.
