Rumours of Naughton to Leicester or Swansea, not sure if he'd drop to championship or if we'd offer him the wages that they could. We should have gone all in after his loan, been wasted ever since and looks horrendously out of confidence now. He was arguably our most consistent defender his year in the prem with us.
As I recall, he played all across the back four (we lost Whitbred and ?? to injury in the same match) and never once let us down. Best loan signing we've ever had, imo
Yeah played all over, elliot bennett ended up at right back and was one of our 2 clean sheets that season if i remember correctly. Huckerby our best loan signing for me
DM are claiming Olsson has asked to leave: http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=385127
Beat me to it by the merest whisker, you rascal http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...p-pursuit-Norwich-defender-Martin-Olsson.html
£4m for him seems a good deal to me, if we can get a replacement that is (back-up to Garrido or competition for)
That would have to be Huckerby for me Cromer, but Naughton was certainly one of the best! Ayala is tearing up trees for Boro now.
Someone else said the same yesterday - at the risk of being pedantic, Hucks later joined the club on a permanent deal, I meant Naughton of those who went back to their parent club at the end of the loan spell
Rumours that the Swans have had a £5m bid for Naughton, hope that goes through to knock the Olsson speculation on its head!
Re. Olsson. The Championship is no place for players who feel they are slumming it. It's a league for players who roll up their sleeves and get on with it, which is why Bradley Johnson seems to thrive there. I'm not necessarily saying that Olsson is a prima donna, but he is giving off the signs of someone who thinks he is operating below his natural station. So my inclination is to say let him go. I always felt Garrido was an intelligent player who read the game well and is a team player. Also, we never used his deadball skills to the full because Snodgrass insisted on doing everything. So I think we could cope without Olsson. I'd much rather lose him than Redmond at the moment.
