Not so sure about that. After the next 3 games we should all have a good idea. Take WBA for starters, have you seen their last 5 fixtures? I reckon they will get 0 points from those games. Although Harry talks a lot of cr@p he was right in saying it will be tight.

You forgot to give them a ball each! They aren't so far off being fit now. If they stay injury free, train and play games they could keep us up.

Id possibly add Sunderland to that list or replace Villa with them, but these are the main relegation candidates imo.

No problem with Leicester (other than the time wasting keeper) or Burnley and if either stay up than good luck to them. I would like to see Villa go down as they have been avoiding it the past 5 seasons and always seem to get out.

Youre not down yet. If you can sort your away form out you never know.
I think our owners will stick with Pearson if we go down. He has done a lot of good for our club and would give us a good platform to get ys back up at first attempt.
For what ever reason we missed out apparently on a few signings in the summer and now trying to do lots of business in jan could be too late I fear. If Kramaric can hit the ground running and bang in some goals but its a big ask for the lad
More ups and downs to come lads
    Enjoy the ride

I thought we played well overall.

I was pleased with the amount of effort and passion shown by our players, although Fer was the least satisfactory in this respect. The lengthy Sunday Times piece today was also quite flattering about our performance. However, I have to agree that we kept giving the ball away cheaply and Vargas was probably the most guilty of this. Ball retention showed the gulf in class between the two sides and allowed United to maintain the pressure on us.

Unlike some on here, I thought that Hill had a good game defensively but, not surprisingly, offered little going forward. Isla gave us a good attacking threat, worked incredibly hard and was solid defensively. Henry was a star and did so much defensively but his creativity is almost non-existent. Nevertheless, was probably MOTM. Barton played well and did more than Henry going forward but I am not sure we afford the two of them in the same team.

I thought Onuoha had one of his best games of recent times. He looked quick, tackled well and won many of his aerial duals. I liked Caulker, too: one of our successful acquisitions of the Summer. He will get even better.

Vargas covered lots of ground, looked dangerous at times but his poor decision making let us down when we had probably our only counter attack where we outnumbered them.

I cannot recall Bobby Zamora ever working so hard. He was a real handful for them. He will never score many goals but he won loads of headers and laid the ball off well.

Some on here have given Austin low marks but he had two cracking shots at goal which, with a lesser keeper, would have found the net. These weren't clear cut opportunities in my opinion, he made them into clear opportunities. Many would settle for that contribution but Charlie was like an auxiliary midfielder when we lost the ball. We are so lucky to have him and how anyone can rate him as a 6 after that, I don't know.

It was great to see Taarabt control and hold on to the ball, and make some incisive passes. He looked a class act but I doubt we could have any two of him, Kranjcar and Fer on the pitch at the same time.

We matched United in the first half and put them under a lot of pressure for the last 20 minutes. With a bit of luck, we could have had a draw. This performance bodes well for the rest of the season.

That's a fair summary Rodders, although I think some have been a bit hard on Vargas. He did lose the ball a few times, but that was because he was trying to make something happen. Zamora should be reserved for a late impact sub in my opinion. When he starts we just aim high balls at him and it's so predictable. OK, he's a legend and all that, but **** me he is ordinary. People around me were cheering him when he headed it out for a throw in.

The reason Charlie had to help out in midfield was because Redknapp has no idea what he's doing.

Thanks, Stroller. I'd agree about Zamora being best as a sub. I guess he's been a starter because he's probably the best help that Charlie can get up front, plus United are (reputedly) weak in the air at the back. Zamora did create one of Charlie's opportunities with a good early ball. Like you, I hate it when we overly rely on hoofing high balls up towards him. With the right players on the pitch, in the right positions, we are better than that and must vary our attacks more.

I'm no great fan of Redknapp but I don't think we'll get much out of this group of players than we did on Saturday whoever is manager and, as I said, I think we did pretty well.
