Don't want to piss on your chips lads, he's a step up from Jozy, but in his last five seasons at Spurs, he scored 47 goals, average of just under ten a season. He's scored 11 this season, but Danny Graham would be prolific there. £70000 a week for the next three and a half years he'll be 36 when his contract ends. Do you think he's going to get better, or worse?

The cons outweigh the pros in my eyes, but at least your club is doing something.

Daft way of looking at it.
Premier league
In 13/14 he only scored 1 in 14 but was limited just 434 minutes as a bit part sub.
In 12/13 he scored 11 and created 4 in 34. Good return and played regularly.
In 11/12 he scored 11 and created 2 in 25 with only 1299 minutes, used mainly as sub. Exceptional return.
In 10/11 he scored 4 and created 2 in 22. Used as sub and only clocked 1477minutes. pretty poor season.
In 09/10 he scored 18 and created 5 in 34, played regularly. Exceptional return.

It's easy to bunch statistic to put a player down but when you look at each season on their individual merit then it's plain to see he's been a very good goal scorer.

Don't buy the wage thing neither. We have a wage structure and the media had decided his wages before he'd even had talks <doh>@Media. No way is he getting a flat 70k a week. I could buy that he may get it hitting goal targets but a flat 70k a week? Never in a million years. Not to piss on your chips fella. ;)

Atletico Madrid have offered QPR and Sunderland target Cristian Rodriguez to both Olympiacos and Galatasaray.

According to reports in Spain, the La Liga champions are actively seeking a departure for the Uruguayan midfielder and have approached both clubs to gauge their interest.

QPR and Sunderland have both been strongly linked with the man known as 'Cebolla' – which translates as 'Onion' – and it has been suggested that they might look to sign him this month.

However, his future could lie away from England if either Olympiacos or Galatasaray make him an offer.

It has been suggested that Turkish giants Gala hold the firmest interest, although they have already reached the quota of non-Turkish players allowed in their squad.

But that could change with Macedonian striker Goran Pandev linked with a January departure away from the club, which could open the door for a Rodriguez swoop.

I reckon that figure included his wages. <ok>

If you take wages into account, how much did Cisse cost? or even Altidore on a supposed £40k a week? In try not to get sucked in by the numbers Somb, it doesn't directly affect me and I trust that the club can make the numbers work. My main priority is to improve the team and I reckon Defoe will do that.

Apparently we buy defoe for £6m, toronto buy jozy for £6m, effectively a straight swap, immense if true

I'm not getting into systems, into complexities, this or that.

Jermaine Defoe is a goalscorer, and we need one.

To swap him for Jozy and peanuts is fantastic business. Simple as that.

With Giacc & Alvarez eye for a pass and Defoe's runs, we are on a right ****ing winner here.

Bent-esque signing this.
