Many a true word is spoken in jest, Oz!

I think Kane is safe from Mad Dog's clutches for a few seasons, yet. I have no doubts, though, that if Kane keeps living up to his "the new Shearer" tag, you boys will eventually come sniffing.

Our only salvation may be the fact that Mad Dog, for what ever reason, doesn't seem to fancy young English strikers (Sturridge and Lukaku spring to mind).

Dear Hiag you're as mad as a box of frogs if you think that Lukaku is English but if history plays a part provided that lad carries on improving then Real Madrid will get him probably for £20M and Modric. <laugh>

Well, Modric was English, I suppose, and the Russian wanted him.

Don't tell me I don;t know my football, Oz.

No. Never. Ever.

<laugh>

The reason. You cannot afford him. Its that simple.

Where as you lot can afford the 170m fee, but not his wages, not without another dodgy sponsorship deal or renaming Old Toilet to The Harem or something.<whistle> Moreover Messi is never gonna go live in ****chester anyway, I doubt he'd sign for any club in Engerlund other than Chelsea.

Even putting aside the fact that he'd be joining up with his old pal, Fab, I think Messi would relish the chance to work with The Smug One. I'd be surprised if he even knew who van Gaal was.

I'd be suprised if Messi knew who LVG was aswell, it's hardly like LVG managed Barcelona to multiple trophies <whistle>

hope we dont sign him fear if we did Hazard would have to go to help meet FFP
Think Messi has already peaked would not be a good bit of business
Agreed - looks too much like a Torres-2-step to me; spending the equivalent of 4 top drawer players so that you can put all your eggs in one basket is bad business. I would question his motivation, as someone has mentioned Messi has won all the top honours, plus the fact he would kicked all over the park - £200m worth on the treatment table........no thanks.

Agree with this, playing certain teams he'd get kicked all over the pitch. and including wages over a 5 year deal, it's likely to be 275m worth on the treatment table.
