Maybe, but he could have had a (slim) chance of doing it at Reading, rather than a completely fanciful dream!
Pie that's a hard question to answer and will depend on what is being served up as entertainment at FP- if we spend say another 2 or 3 seasons there - there is very strong loyalty in Pompey for the club - I do think if we don't finish strongly we'll see a drop of around 2-3K next season - hopefully I'm wrong - I travel a fair way to attend games and can't make mid-week matches if it became a turgid watch and it has been once or twice this season I'd have to re-think about how often I went - mainly because the cost and effort involved in getting across - I want to drive home smiling a bit more than I have of late.
An hon An honest appraisel one would imagine.... I can certainly understand why you Pompey fans are bit down. Sometimes though you just have grin a bare it.....Not much else to do......your priority one imagines is to survive in the FL in time things will improve. I am convinced of it, too much tradition to loose......chin up lads!
Are you suggesting we change the name of tbhis thread from 'Scummers going down' to 'Skates staying up'?
I really hope that the Newport game goes off quietly although suspect it will not due to the scenes down here last time. I said at the time that I have gone to Newport for work a few times and the people are great - like a lot of clubs they have idiots but mostly decent and hard working people. I also hope that now we have Matt Tubbs we nick a draw. He is a very positive signing. PUP
Some of their "fans" came down to Portsmouth earlier this season for our home match, looking for trouble, and put a couple of Pompey fans in hospital. One 18 year old youth had 10 stitches in a shocking head wound, and a fractured skull. I know Cardiff and Swansea fans can be troublesome especially when they play each other, but hadn't realised that Newport also had their problem followers.
Or how about " Saints for Europe and Pompey for the cup" or maybe the "Skates relegation blues" if you want to personalise it.
Well after the win at Old Trafford that puts us on 39 points, which will be enough for safety this year! We are staying up say we are staying up!!
