It would, roughly, so itd be a massive gamble, if he didn't take us to safety, we'd be lumped with him. However, he could have a great half season with us, we get to next January and some other club take him of our hands for a tidy fee. Nice.

He'd have to take a wage drop in all probability and I doubt we'd have trouble selling him next year

It's been reported he earns £100,000 a week out there, so the £10.4m equates to a 2 year deal on £100,000 a week. I don't know why you would offer a 3 year contract to a player over 30, I know Allam/Bruce have their faults, but they're not that stupid.

I can't believe you are comparing Jermaine Defoe to the likes of Ibrahimovic/Eto'o/Van Nistelrooy/Diego Milito <doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh>

Is this guy for real? You do realise Eto'o has only been in the Premier League for 2 seasons, don't you? I'm sure if Eto'o was in the Premier League in his prime he'd of scored just as many, if not more than Defoe's 124.
