http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/...sley_as_he_collects_a_six_month_ban_1_3545510 Im not particulary bothered about the fact his got a driving ban, more the bit at the bottom where it states he has a 31k wage! I would have guessed he was on half of that so no wonder we need to shift players off the books!
A SUNDERLAND AFC star has been slapped with a six-month driving ban after nipping to the bookies Wonder what he was having a bet on????????. 31k, would have guess around there anyway. Ridiculous, yes. But thats football these days. And there is far worse players on a lot more.
Earned it last year, but it's a hell of a lot, by any standard. Unless you're Lady Gaga or something...
I got a 6 month ban for totting up about 12 years ago. Won't have been earning more than 20k/annum at the time. I got fined £480 quid alongside the ban. Bardo earns 30k per week and gets fined £900 quid ... how the ****s that work?!
Let's not forget how much the club actually makes from TV and gates. It must be near on 100mil per season. If that was the average wage our wage bill would only be 80 million. that's about 10 Chelsea players for a season. What's the issue here, we all know that footballer are on silly money and have been for the last 10 years. I don't understand the point here.
When you think 31k a week for your player of the season is not bad (although ****ing ridiculous amount in real life) in the concept of modern day footballing. Gordon on 40k for doing nowt, Ricco the same for being ****e...and so on and on......
They all need it to pay their lawyers, agents and other parasites (as a member of the parasites club - works OK for me!)
We got 65 million last season 13 million from gate and matchday 39 million from TV 8 Million Sponsorship 5 milion Commercial activities Our wages were 54 million or 84% of our turnover.
If I recall correctly Bardo got a new contract towards the the end of last season. 85% on wages for a business that does not manufacture or sell anything is quite good. I am a share holder in a business and the wage bill is 90% of the turnover at the moment, but the value of the business is growing. A football club will aim to grow it's worth, that does not necessarily mean it needs to make a profit. Most football fans just don't understand how business works. This is why a lot make some very silly comments. The green and gold man u fans are the worst, they win the league have the highest paid player in the epl and they still moan.
But when this fair play comes in, it includes transfer fees, thats just the wages, so we can spend 11 million on players without going over it. Man U have a turnover of 286 million, and wages of 131 million but thats only a 46% of turnover so they have 140 million to burn on transfers before they even get hit with anything. (and that turnover probably has nowt to do with the glaziers)
Statto Steve amazes me, think he keeps us all sane....... We talk of other peoples millions like nowt, and he seems to make sense of it all. Good job Steve, even if i don't understand half of it...
He's right, even though we finished higher AGAIN....they were on tv more, so while we got more from the higher ranking, they got more from tv.......... Statto where are you...think i'm right,,help me out.
Well its wrong actually, but remember Accounts for companies run from April 1st to March 31st so they missed out on a lot of TV money by being in the Championship season before last. Next season they will make more than us though, even if its just the turnover from gate receipts, they make about 21 million whilst we make 13 million, they also have 15 million commercial revenue where we have 5 million.
See folks that's what happens when you think you know..... Cheers Steve, it was just something i read somewhere. But facts are facts, and you are a reliable source, so i stand corredted..........
