Good Morning Everyone, The league table makes for glum reading today. The only saving grace is that Brighton separate us from the relegation zone. 1 Bournemouth 48 2 Ipswich 47 3 Derby 45 4 Middlesbrough 43 5 Watford 41 6 Brentford 40 7 Norwich 37 8 Wolves 37 9 Blackburn 35 10 Sheff Wed 34 11 Nottm Forest 31 12 Cardiff 31 13 Charlton 31 14 Birmingham 31 15 Bolton 29 16 Reading 29 17 Fulham 28 18 Huddersfield 28 19 Rotherham 26 20 Leeds 24 21 Brighton 23 22 Millwall 23 23 Wigan 20 24 Blackpool 14 Looking at budgets, wage structures etc, it has to be said that we are seriously under performing! How, I hear you ask? Doukara, touted about at 1.5m. I do not know how much he signed for. but..... (Signed permanently) Bellusci 3.5m Again, I don't know how much he signed for, but that was the figure touted about that he was worth... Adryan 3m??? The list can go on and on... Why can't we produce a balanced side? One of Derby's better players last night was Chris Martin, a free transfer. When was the last time we got a free transfer half as good as him? I am not defending our performance one bit, 24 points in as many games speaks for itself, but we don't seem to get much luck? Not sure if last night was own goal number 4 or 5? We have conceded more pens then anyone else (ish) We have only been awarded one pen all season Yesterday I do not believe we had a shot on target. Even when Sharp came on, it made absolutely no difference. If the development team played Derby last night, would they have been any worse? Would they have shown more fight?
I'm tempted to lump on Redfearn as the next sacking at 16's given Cellino's lack of patience with managers.
Former footballer Robbie Savage says Leeds United look hopeless and will struggle to avoid relegation after witnessing their 2-0 defeat at Derby County. Savage, who finished his playing career at Derby, watched on has Leeds made it just one point from their last five games and they finish the year just one point above the relegation zone and Savage says the side lack a leader and are a shadow of former Leeds sides. 'This Leeds team look hopeless, it will be a struggle to stay up,". Savage told BBC Radio Five Live. "They haven't got a leader. I have seen great Leeds teams playing with energy and passion but they have been very poor tonight.'
Morning all Savage sums us up, we could have played another 90 minutes yesterday, we never looked like scoring, never once went close.
Morning all I think this is the worst situation I've seen the club be in coming in to the new year. I don't remember hovering over the relegation zone under Wise at New Year. Savage is right and I'll repeat what i said last night we need a Naylor esq player who is a fan or a Radebe esq player who can become a cult hero. I would say let's hope that Celino has bought some players before the embargo but I don't think it would help
Club went backwards as soon as Redders got the job, we may as well have stayed with Jonny Darko because at least he has history as a decent manager. Love what redders has done for the kids, but he simply hasn't a clue at this level. Savage last night said that the silly diamond formation needs changing because Leeds will never get a shot at goal as they have no width, and just puts their defence under constant pressure. He also said their's no heart or a leader even though there's a lot of talent it doesn't get used correctly. So Dukara may well be a good player but hates what he's been asked to do and that goes for all of them. Young Cook was the only shining light last night and I'm sick of it all. Makes no difference what players Cellino brings in, because in this lash up we have no chance. Brighton under Houghton will be fine and we go down just ahead of Blackpool. Embarrassed to be getting texts last night and this am from mates taking the poss about my team. The idiot we had at the start of the season may have done a better job?
Yeah definitely! To think that him and Clarke were available and we went with Milanic and Redfearn. To be fair to Milanic I think given the chance he'd have done a good job for us!
Morning all. Not good last night. Still worse, we have Del Fabro and Montenegro who can't even get a game, despite the fact that we're not playing well. If Sunderland turn us over badly on Sunderland, I can see Redfearn returning to the academy and someone more experienced coming in. If we are going for a winger, will he get a game? If Monteneg behind them?ro were to play on Sunday, where should he play and who should drop out? Montenegro and Sharp up front, with Adryan playing
