i recall a lot of you saying that your 98-99 team was better than arsenals invincibles as you won 3 trophies and they won 1. by that logic surely if we win the league cup our season will be deemed more successful than yours, that is unless you win a trophy of course

Weve already won the champions cup. It earned us 20 times more than the winners of the league cup will receive.
We also won the plate last season
Yes you won silverware, but if no top 4 finish its a bit lame as you only get into the Europa league for failed teams.

PL + CL + FA > PL, as PL is a subset of the treble.
No one in their right mind just counts trophies, well except you maybe. Oh wait, I said "in their right mind"...
Winning the treble is infinitely better than the "invincibles" 
You get no extra trophy for being undefeated.
