Ian Wright is an idiot. I respect everything that he did as a player but he is tarnishing that with his 'punditry'.

Wenger basically lies his arse off whenever talking about transfers.

Its hard to tell if we are going to add anyone - probably not because he hates the January Window.

Apparently Wenger stated that due to taking caution with Koscielny a CB as cover is needed and he'll go for one in January. Our biggest need IMO

Hope we get a CB ASAP (as in we're already doing negotiations now so we can sign him as soon as the window opens). While I'd prefer a World Class CB, I doubt anyone is moving in January so a good cover CB like Winston Reid or van Dijik would be good IMO.

I agree, a WC CB is unlikely but a good solid one for cover can be achieved.

To be honest, it shouldn't be too difficult to pick up a CB for cover during Jan, I'd be tempted to go for a loan deal, ideally someone who's already playing premier league football. If we're not going to sign a world class CB in jan, then we need one who can hit the ground running in terms of knowing this league.

I can't see any good quality CBs being available to loan in Jan unfortunately - but still think we need one regardless of who we sign in the summer.

Hopefully with a more defensive signing in midfield in the summer our midfield will have more balance and offer more protection to the defence, while controlling territory/possession better - this will allow our defence to cope a lot better, especially if we've got adequate strength in depth.

Lovren should be available by then, he is used to the premiership and does well with a decent partner <ok>

He'd be a decent acquisition for £5-8m I reckon. As long as you chuck in a bag of monster munch and a packet of bourbons

Howedes could be a good option and is constantly linked.

Can play CB/RB and LB - and all to a high standard.

Hummels would be the ideal signing though.

A loan deal with Premiership experience is dreamland. The only clubs with good CBs who they might loan out are the top clubs and they wouldn't loan to Arsenal if they have any sense. There's a bloke at Swansea, you may have heard of him - Bartley - can play CB & DM, fairly tall, might be worth a punt?

Bartley has managed as many appearances for Swansea this season as bellerin has for us, 7. Once upon a time he looked good but he hasn't lived up to his assumed potential. I'm sure I've seen Swansea fans saying they don't rate him too.

I'd rather we went for someone else. I don't mind if it's an unknown gem e.g. koscielny or an experienced head e.g. Mertesacker (or squillaci lol), but a we need another defender in January with Kosc's current injury concerns. And Bartley doesn't fit into either category.
