I thought that it was Parker who drove, not Lady Penelope. Not sure where the bit about the friendly rival comes in, though.
Correct car, NZ, wrong driver. Yes, the car bit is to do with Parker, Barry, and the quote is from an elderly porcine character, said to an elderly canine character. The connection is Parker and the porcine character.
I've gone too hard here, sorry. The connection was David Graham, the voice of Parker and, very well known to any parent or grandparent of small children, the voice of Grandpa Pig. I was listening to a radio play the other day from 1977 and I clearly recognised one character as the voice of Parker. I looked him up (to see if he was still alive ) and was amazed that he is 89 and still working! He started Grandpa Pig when he was 79! In reparation, sorry again, here's a nice easy one. Which MP traditionally heckles Black Rod?
It is Dennis Skinner, and it's not exactly under his breath. Here's 15minutes of clips https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aMSCITZB7ws Or just this year's https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ltAhrD2FCW4 I think my favourite was, I think from 1989, as Black Rod comes in to the chamber in all his regalia, and with as much gravitas as he can muster (and this is not quiet): "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label!" Another was after the "command" from the Queen to join her in the 'House of Peers', again, loud and with no competing noise at all: "Tell her to pay her taxes!" All yours, cologne.
No.....much more recent. When I said that Sheff UTD were the first and Arsenal were the last - Arsenal can expect to lose that record quite soon ie. tomorrow.
