Went to Koln just before crimbo a few years ago and it was one of the coldest trips I've ever been on. Nice city tho
Cologne's just down the road (well, motorway) from here. Only saw a bit of the Christmas market, but it seemed nice. The Dom (cathedral) is impressive.

Cologne (and Düsseldorf) are also worth visiting in February for the carnival (Karnival), where basically the entire town has a costume party and gets drunk. It's great in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way, ish. But we get the day off work!

Don't worry, they do that here too. Inf act, it's by miles the biggest Christmas song. At least in England you get to hear Slade, but that almost never gets played.
Not if you're stuck in a jam (Stau for RHC).
P.S. Düsseldorf is nicer than Cologne (Köln), albeit there's nothing as impressive as the Dom.
