24 days till Christmas

No Christmas balls in your house this year I suppose?

Keeps 'em in a jar.

What's Christmas like in Krautland anyway? They seem to go a bundle on it over here with their German Markets and funfair stuff.
Unless that's yet another cynical marketing exercise. <whistle>

Dinner on Sh*tmas day for me and the Mrs will involve me going to the Indian takeaway Sh*tmas eve and ordering the works like we have done for the last 2 years, bunging it in the fridge then on the dreadful day to the local for a few (6) beers coz it's my birthday then home for curry...mmm.

Have had curry on crimbo day a couple of times recently. Home made one though.

Got held up in the shop this morning by a young mum who couldn't decide whether to get the mars bar advent calendar or one of the other ones. There's a display near the till. She kept swapping them and bringing them over about to pay then changing her mind. <steam> Kid she was buying for wan't there to say which he wanted, but she had another kid with who was being better behaved than the mum herself.

Christmas over here is fairly similar, I suppose. You obviously have loads of German markets (or Christmas markets as they're called here) and they drink lots of Glühwein. But you get the presents on Christmas Eve, and the Christmas songs are even more awful.
