The magic of the banner seems to be spinning it's message of peace and love right across the network. When I saw the scouser posting, I though there'd be an offer from them to nick us one. Seriously, the flag/banner is about the fans. Anything else really is irellevent to this right now.
I didn't say he was a member of CTWD, I said he was supportive of our campaign, I don't even know if he's a City fan. The banner belongs to whoever owns it, CTWD made an offer to help that was unconditional, it was never an attempt to take control or credit for anything, despite the ridiculous claims that idiots like Happy make. If we can help, then fine, if our help is not required, then that's equally fine.
I was thinking down the same lines as Craig, as reality tells me that the flag will have limited longevity; but, to be honest, I have given myself a slap and I am quite happy to support Bruce for what he has done for us, rather than what he may do. Get another flag with NOT606 on it, it would be brilliant seeing them work their way around the stands - that is when the Despot ends his daft lies and manipulation and I return to home games!
Actually, you said he "supported our campaign" - which is why I made the connection that he was a CTWD member. I now gather that he simply said he agreed with your cause, which he would, given that you were paying him - he was unlikely to say he disagreed and thought you were a total ****er! Though I have done business with people I've thought that about (as I'm sure you have). I guess the way forward is to get him to give a price, get someone else on here to find an alternative price, and then ask your mate to do it for 50% of the lower of the two figures.
As I think it's been decided to proceed without CTWD's assistance, I think the best way forward is for someone to start phoning flag manufacturers.
Just get it made lammy man. It makes NO difference who makes it If ctwd can get a big discount GREAT . What's not to like about that ?
Sat waiting for information from the club about maximum sizes and materials allowed, plus from a poster that's offered the use of a PayPal account.
To be honest, there's a lot of discussion, which is excellent, it shows we care, but the organising isn't all that much work so far. People have been really generous in their offers of help. Maulled1904 put the design up, which saves an awaful lot, others have offered PayPal for the donations to go to. Once the PayPal details are up we can start taking donations, then it's just a case of finding out what the Club like. After that, there's a few options for quotes so far.
Yep, a couple of people have suggested Black and Amber Army and it was one of the original suggestions, to go with the chant. I'm open to suggestions. Once we get the money coming in, I guess we could do another poll with these and any other options.
I think the poll is quite misleading. I voted 'Other' - however, now I know CTWD wouldn't take any credit or claim any ownership, I'm happy for them to be involved as supporters. I wonder if a few others would think similarly. When we voted, CTWD's role wasn't clear. Also, I would support a different banner rather than the one proposed. Something along the lines of 'The Pride of Yorkshire' would get my vote - anything to have a little dig at L**ds, however much or little they care what we do.
I think that as this stemmed from a comment about supporting the manager, we'll stick with the design we've got so far. It'd be great if this lead to more funds for more banners with different designs.
Dear Father Christmas, can me and my friends at the footyball please have a nice big flag to wave so we can show the team that we luv them very very very much. From Charlie, aged 10.
Nice of an Evertonian to offer to buy our flag for us. Thanks for the offer, but sadly we'll have to decline. If you could arrange three points for us on Wednesday as a consolation it will be gratefully accepted though.
