...These days there is an overwhelming mass of statistics, information and debate which feeds the fans logical desire to pass judgement on what`s right and wrong for their club. "We`ve got a five feet 6" striker...Whats available in the 6` 5" range ?...we could do with one of those......Ive read on this forum many times contributors to the debate applying the money factor as the basis for the argument..".We could buy him for twenty zillion....but then again for that twenty zillion we could buy four "good" players at 5 zillion each....
Earlier today there was conjecture about Gordon moving to Arsenal....and I proferred Bendtner as a target.......Not one person took it up....Now Im not being precious ...and Im not even suggesting that it could happen... (But how neat!!!)
What I am asking...with humility and politeness...is that there could be another way...People talk about Clough....one of the fantastic management skills he had was taking CHARACTER and then provided a huge umbrella under which they performed...
Like it or not...that boy festering in Arsenals team has a bit of Clough about him....says hes the best in the world!....hahaaha!...Bendtner-Gyan....Ebony and Ivory...They`d need an inspirational manager tho`....Have we got one???

I'd take Bendtner mate, if that's your question.

You phrased it quite extraordinarily though ;)

Bentdner is too good for us. Plus why would he want to play for Bruce when hes been playing under wenger.

I have to say that I too have a feeling Bendtner has the ability to be a real force in this league if he was given the chance. Wenger uses him then drops him (dirty boy HA HA) and doesnt give him the confidence he needs to get some real form going.

Funnily enough, he reminds me of our very own Niall Quinn in his style (if maybe a little more mobile) and his goal stats are very similar. A 'good biggun' as they say and at 23, a terrific age for a lad who has a lot of experience for that tender age.

Straight swap for Gordon? Great shout.

id love bendtner here, in a strange way he couldn't be at a worse club for the type of player he is. wenger uses and abuses him, plays him wide right from time to time. there's been a few occasions when arsenal have looked like they wouldn't score if they kept playing for a week and bendtner has come on and scored a vital goal. he's great in the air and skillfull. If he was playing week in.week I reckon hed be a 15 goal a season man. Can see him moving to Germany if he leaves Arsenal.

sure Bruce would love Bendtner at the club

having slept with his daughter then sacked her off I bet they are best buddies

would hate him here, he is one arrogant c**k who is no better than an average footballer but the way he goes about and acts you would think he is asgood as Messi, would never come to us even if we were interested as we wouldn't be good enough for him

I don't understand the enthisiasm for Bendtner at all. I think the lad's a complete plank to be honest.

The whole point of my little piece...(tho it seems it may have been extraordinarily phrased!) was that managers like Clough would take an unfashionable player....look for character and hey presto they were transformed by a mixture of discipline and "man management"......Bendtner seems to me to be one of those...I could imagine Cloughy buying him....chiefly because he has massive outrageous confidence....and brains....Cloughy was abit like that himself.....and wasnt universally liked by his team mates when he played...

I think your right, that if he was managed and handled in the right way, he could develop into a very good striker indeed.

Arsenal are asking for £12million though, that's way too rich IMO.

My mate paul - he big, dumb, blonde hair and can't play football for ****e - he's like Bendtner!!

Don't rate the lad and really hope we don't sign him

I can;t see Brucie transforming him into a world beater - but if we do sign him, I will back the lad 100% - hope not though

Like the man said...discount for crocked goalkeeper!!!.....The most interesting thing for me is this lad has what used to be called a "head piece"....I love players who frighten opposition when theyre getting changed before they run out because of their brain....If you look at our mid field we`ve got enough runners/hard men..wheres the brain?...I`d love Character and "brain" to be high on the list of those coming in.....Im wandering off a bit now BB......but a good example over the last few years has been someone like Danny Murphy... (punished us a few times over the years...If hes in the opposing changing room you know youve got a game on your hands......

Bruce should learn to keep Amy locked away in the kitchen. She, through her fling with Bent, might have indirectly cost us millions in prize money as a result of his acrimonious departure!
    Amy out!!!

One of the big things that gets little mention when people discuss Bendtner is his touch on the ball, which is superb at times.

He turns quickly and skilfully for a big man, a rare trait, that our Niall had.

I think were it not for his self confidence, people would rate him much higher, which is daft, as football is a confidence sport.

Gordon and £4million sound's about right to me.

I work with an Arsenal lad and he rates Bendtner. Says he isnt top 4 or Euro Champions good but he thinks he would be a huge hit on Wearside.

At 23, he has his best years ahead of him too and a deal involving Gordon would be good business for both clubs. 12m for a player with EPL, Champions League and having played for Arsenal for 3 or 4 years isnt going to be a cheap option lads. If Henderson was 20m. Bendtner at 12m isnt expensive IMO.

Add to that Gordon's contract situation, he could walk in January (abroad at least), and it starts to make perfect sense.

I keep on going on about Cloughie and Im not a total Cloughie junkie but I remember stories of him doing outrageous things like washing players feet before they went out....Thats in between giving them a dig as well of course...haha!....The thought of SB doing something like that for Bendtner is a step too far of course....but I like the idea of some kind of man management with the result that a player plays out of his skin...which hes always likely to do.... if you play him!...as one of the lads said....I also like the idea of throwing a bomb into the mixture....Gyan/solid/tough/ethical ....technically brilliant ....Ji...hard working industrious...thirsting for success/ plus Connor who can do everything NB could do........If he came ...I`d take a gamble he could be our wild card come good

    Makes a lot of sense.

Bruce does seem to get the best out of some, look at what he did for Titus, if he can g=harness that self confidence and give him a run in the team, he and Gyan, with Whickham and Dong as the options, well it may well work.

Would he wanna come here is probably a key point.
