They need a review system in football. The referee isn't to blame for some decisions. He can't see everything, so needs help from his linesmen and 4th official. Obviously if something happens right infront of the referee and he misses it then it's fair enough to call him inept. Either way they need a review system. Two per game for each team.

I don't see how anyone can complain about Gaston's red. He kicked out and gave the referee the opportunity to make the decision. He only has himself to blame.

Oh Al... Gaston was correctly given a red card. Gaston was a dick for doing what he did. I called it as it happened in the corner of the screen without a replay. Linesman was spot on to wave his flag.

because he is a Saints player and cute and thus certain people wear tinted glasses. Vertonghen was a dick too for kneeing Ramirez too.

If that was available today, you would have heard the linesman say "Ref, Ramirez has kicked out at an opponent off the ball"

    Red card

Gaston is a dick, but the officials spoilt that game. Could understand the decision more if Jacky boy had seen red yesterday, but that decision would never go against the elite. What a crock of ****. Spurs seem to benefit from dodgy calls every other week, & that makes it even more annoying.

Gaston probably deserved it as Benteke did. Why should referees be forced to make judgments about the gravity of kicking out or raising your hand to someone on a case by case basis? That adds another uncertainty to the game. Just give them the punishment.

Good for you FLT, and you are welcome to your opinion on this. I didn't think it was red card.

Genuinely nothing to do with that. I probably acted a little more angrily to it because it was Spurs benefiting again, and also getting a guy sent off. Before you say, "Gaston got himself sent off by kicking out", I meant Vertonghen left his foot in and then went down like he'd been shot.

Yep. Spurs are very good at acting the victim. Dirty little small minded club.

The fans, players & officials don't like him, think he might be going home soon. At least he's got a decent hair cut to take back.

Ok then. Once the assistant told him what had happened he had to issue a red card. Happy Mr Pedantic?

If you read through the whole Hull thread about him, you'll find the majority thought he was having a good game up to that point, and has something about him.

@Lord_Sugar: What does Pochettino and the Titanic have in common? They should have both stayed in Southampton

So you think it is ok for a player to kick out at a player off the ball, or after the ball is gone. Remember, there are no degrees of honesty. He either kicked out or he didn't.
