How Arsenal could be doing with Wanyama, all I would say is be prepared to lose him because he obviously doesnt have much loyalty, he was treated like a king at Celtic but left for the money. You will get decent profit at least.
So you don't think he left to play in a more competitive competition? If he has ambition, he's come to the right place evidently!
Maybe, but the Champions League nights he experienced at Celtic, he will never experience anything like that with Southampton. Even if you get to the Champs League! He told Celtic fans he was going nowhere.
Bit of inside info here, don't think I've mentioned it before: Wanyama (his party at least) requested a move this summer. Saints placated him and his agents by telling them to wait on the managerial situation to clear up and the transfer window to progress. I don't expect him to see out his deal - he can and will go higher, whether with us or someone else.
Sorry but that's nonsense and completely subjective. If we qualify for the champions league, it will be massive, we know it, and everyone else knows it. Yes Celtic have an amazing fanbase and atmosphere, but Saints qualifying for this competition would be astounding by anyone's standards.
Anything is possible with a top 4 finish, more money for new contracts or to buy new players if some leave. Win Win situation just enjoy the ride!
I think we all knew when we signed him that he wouldn't be here long. We should make a tidy profit though and I'm glad we didn't lose him this summer. This does mean that we should definitely get Corky signed up as we can't afford to lose all 3 of them next year and I'm almost certain Morgan will go
Not so sure that Morgan will leave now...especially if we get into Europe. Have you seen a happier player?
Offering Cork a new contract is a no-brainer for me. If we're to lose Morgan or Vic, it's great to hold onto Cork. If we keep all our players and even buy a couple of quality players, it's still good to have Cork as a back up option. We know the biggest difference between us and other top4 contenders is strength in depth, and having Cork in the squad would offer us just that - a quality player which can come in the first time when injuries and suspensions hit us, without it having a bad impact on our performances on the pitch. His wages can't be that high, and to buy a player of his quality would require at least 7-8 million. And that's without even saying we need all the players we can get for playing in Europe.
Signing Cork is a no brainer. No hunting for a replacement who may not fit in. Cork is talented and flexible and actually wants to be here. He would want an upgrade on his contract, but is hardly likely to break our bank.
I'm disappointed Cork has not been offered an extension, but a lot rests on where we are as a club next season.
Perhaps the squad size point is a valid one. If we keep up form to Christmas then Europe will be very much on the cards and the decision will be easier. The wages point is interesting as we have no idea what Cork is on and what he may want. I know it is only a game but in FM14 he tends to want to go from 25k (ish) to 50k +. I am not sure we will do that for a player who isn't a guaranteed starter. Too many premier league clubs have 40k+ players packing their squads and wage bills There is also the links with Jordy Clasie to consider. However I would assume he would potentially be signed to take Steven Davis starting role (sacrilege I know!) rather than Cork's squad place...
Sorry Fran but after last Summer think that's a little naieve. Everyone thought Adam looked really happy last year. Im sure Morgan's been made a promise as well.
But Lallana went to match his ambition I.e. champions league, and he's spending a lot of time on the bench. If we qualify for the CL, Morgan will be pivotal, and would put himself in the European shop window. Who knows.
Can see Morgan abseiling down from the roof of the Pavilion in the dead of night to smash through Les Reed's window and shred any documentation that links him to a Spur's move in the summer Might even leave him a box of Milk Tray.
Like Liverpool? Not sure why a player would want to leave this club right now, uses it's to a Barca/Real team (for footballing reasons anyhow).
What are you trying to be? A Job's Comforter? Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
