At Stuart's in Driffield a patty if fish sandwiched between potato and battered, it's quite nice but not a true patty

But your first mistake was going to bob carvers. It's a bit **** really. I know in your circumstances you were probably looking for a sit down meal in town, so I would have gone for golden fry. Or maybe even the lion & key.

Mine ran one in Colne(about 7 miles from Burnley) in the late 50's after having previously had a post war lease to run the pub opposite the duckpond at Cherry Burton. Visited her at the pub but never sampled her fish and chips. She died in rather bizarre circumstances in her fish shop being found early in the morning on the floor with a head wound and the gas turned on.

The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death. It was postulated that during cleaning after closing her shop she had slipped on the floor/or fainted,hit her head on the side of the range and on falling caused the gas to be turned back on.

One of 13 kids raised in an East Hull Dockland council terrace she was my mum's favourite sister and my favourite aunt.
 
After reading this last night i got a patty butty from Viking on corner of Collingwood street on the way to work.
When at work I retreived said patty butty from the pocket of my jacket, the student nurse I came up in the lift with (from Hull) went mental 'I love patty buttys'. good lass.
The second student nurse (west riding) said 'whats a patty ?', the rest of us stood apage.

I found this while trying to expain to her, pure patty porn

I love patties - i try and get them whenever I'm home - but i dont think ive ever had a patty butty.

If you want to get fat that is the perfect storm, deep fried carbs in a stodgy white buttered bread cake!!

Cant believe the "fish and chips" thread had burnt out down to page 3 guess there's only so many fish n chip stories out there haha
