@danielstorey85: Southampton have conceded half the amount of goals or less than every other club in the country.
It was a hard fought battle, but we certainly deserved to win. We created four big goal scoring chances, first Long, then Mane, Davis and Pelle. We also had a couple of promising counterattacks which on another day could have ended with the goal. Hull gave us a hard time, but haven't really created anything worth mentioning. But I must say this misses will prove costly some day. Luckily, we have an impervious defence so we can afford a couple of misses. As for the individual players, I thought Wanyama was immense regardless of the goal. Davis played a near perfect match, and Fonte showed today he's one of the very best center backs in the league. Also, if Hodgson doesn't play Clyne after seeing tonight's performance when he put Diame and Ben Arfa in his pocket while also creating chances up front, then he's not just a bad manager, but plainly a stupid person.
Five points clear of 4th, even if Utd and Spurs were to both win tomorrow. Hell, if Utd win, we'll end the weekend five points clear of 3rd too! (Not to mention a vastly superior GD over everyone below us at present).
Probably thinks what's the point...they'll only take it away from me Thank God for the goal machine that is Wanyama.
Only really this game though, should of been 2-0 a long time ago, but you'd rather create chances and miss then create none at all.
Ten games in Posted at 17:00 Premier League "Judge me after 10 games" managers often say. Well we are 10 games in so Ronald Koeman, you are very, very good indeed. Who had Southampton and West Ham in their top five at this stage of the season? I don't believe you!
No complacency - Leicester and Villa will be desperate for a win and last season Villa made us miserable!
