Robertson is naive defensive. He gets caught ball watching and a fair few times let players run in behind him. He very good going forward, as quick any full back in the league. Brady isn't even a full back Robertson but is slightly better defensively. Brady played last week and should keep the shirt.
I was just thinking what an utterly strange comment and then I seen him have a weird pop at Meyler in an above post. I get it now. Kogan is a Rangers fan.
Oh I see..... No I'm neither a Celtic nor Rangers bigot. Nope, just don't feel either Brady or Meyler are particularly reliable when you need them to be most. Meyler has stepped up somewhat though.
Brucey has shown over the years that in general if you play well he will play you again; coupling this with his comment after the Liverpool game that he will be the first name on the team sheet and I'd be very surprised if this is not the case.
The other possibility might be that he selects both to start in the event that there is an injury that we aren't aware of to another player or even that he might select Brady to start ahead of Ben Arfa in the hole behind Hernandez, although I think the latter is a bit unlikely. I think Saturday is a perfect opportunity to give HBA a start in that position at home and see if he is starting to get back to the levels he is capable of, whilst Jelavic is out.
Fergie played him at LB I think on occasion, with a view to that being a permanent role. The role of the modern wing back is to cover attacking and defensive duties - I think Brady can fulfil that role.
Who wants to have a wager who is playing LWB next week? My money is on Robertson. Any takers. Cant believe so many have put Brady in their top 3 on the motm thread.
Id like to play the 4-2-3-1 we ended the game with Jakupovic Elmo Chester Davies Robertson Livermore Huddlestone HBA Diame Brady Hernandez Feel it suits the players we have available the best
I think the dual has come out in favour of Robertson, Brady did OK today, but Robertson delivery into the box is much more threatening.
How many times did they get past him today? **** all that I can remember. And how many good crosses did he put in? Many. That's the job description for him and Elmo, if you're doing those two things well as a wingback you can't be doing that badly.
Thought Robertson was crap today and made the team worse rather than better. Minus that poor back pass Brady had a very good game, no one got past him and he caused nore problems than any bar Diame. Definitely Brady for me, either on the wing or at wing back, however we decide to play.
I wouldn't mind seeing us revert to a 4-4-2, with Robertson at LB and Brady at LW. I'm hoping to see some improvement from Ben Arfa, and for Bruce to recognise that Sone Aluko is most effective playing in the hole behind a striker or front-two, and not as a ****ing winger.
Robertson was terrible when he came on, he got skinned every time someone ran at him, it was definitely the right decision to play Brady, who was excellent in the first half(no-one was excellent in the second).
