He's scored a couple of penalties I think, so probably.

Agree with this sentiment, especially about Berahino. As a rival fan (not wumming), it's always been comforting to see Liverpool packing their team with players just below the standard expected to be challenging consistently for Top 4 or even the title. For me a club like Liverpool is doing less than half the job. They have good home-grown talent that emerges on a regular basis. You also buy the ocassional bit of quality e.g. Torres, Alonso, Suarez. But you also need to regularly buy a number of "ready-made" first team players, not necessarily world-class like the 3 I've just mentioned above, but those capable of holding their own against the best teams in the league. NOT do what you've been doing for the last 20+ years - a girth of squad players and expect them to play like said "ready-made" first teamers. A typical example I can point to is your complete disregard for buying a decent winger for as long as I can remember (instead opting for those very squad players like Pennant or Riera) or not bringing in a quality CB in more than 5 years to replace stalwarts like Hypia and Carragher. And I don't believe Liverpool can't attract top players, ofcourse they can, I think it's just pure bad judgement or planning on the club/manager's part.

Berahino is just flavour of the month right now. If we bought him I imagine he'd be under so much pressure and scrutiny that it would most likely ruin what he's got now. Bizarrely I think if he went to City say, there'd be less pressure on him as he'd be going into a team full of quality, so he would have more chance of pushing on and making the most of his talents. This is the problem with Liverpool we're heaping expectation and pressure onto anyone who comes to play for us because we've been in the doldrums so long. As fans we all crave trophies immediately, especially the league.

Completely agree. so many players like that. Remember when Michu was worth £25m![]()
well lads its like this... what are his attributes? why is he flavor of the month? A couple goals, something new to look at? but if we dig deeper... whats he got pace? power, types of runs he makes, accurate shots? work rate?
I think in general any player can have a purple patch and look good when new.. papis cisse at newcastle is a good example. I don't know that the lad is all that nor that he isn't. Only time will tell but if he's wise he'll stay put and work hard to show what he can do for a couple more seasons.
If I had a boy of the age and he was lucky enough to be a hot property I'd strongly advise against too much too soon. A lad like bernahino needs to keep his feet on the ground and focus on smashing 20 odd goals exactly where he is at and making sure he's earning well but not on a deal more than 4 years there so when the times comes to move he will be able for it. Join lfc today and get swallowed up IMO, doubly so for a chelsea or such club.
Basically if you guys are after him hes world class. Until you sign him and he proves that to be completely wrong.
Take this in the right way UIR but, you're becoming boring now. What happened to putting the effort in?

yeah..... YAWN.... di maria was piss poor v chelsea last weekend. obviously proving he's not a worldie and mario or falcao.... meh both gash.

Bisc, is Texeira still at Brighton? If so, do you think he'll feature tonight?
Any reason why the team's been so poor recently?
