We could quite feasibly win our next three games (tough though they are). Chelsea have QPR next then away to Liverpool. I don't know who the one after that is, but I'd very much like it to be tough. We could be top in three games time :)

Well will they let Drogba keep that goal - in off a United player? We'll see. Probably favouring the favourite few unlike when our man was denied a hat trick.

Well, given the fact that they said Pelle's AND Mane's were own goals, that has to be an o.g. by Van Persie. it won't be, of course, but it should be ............

I've only seen it live (have they even shown a replay from a decent angle yet?), but my first call was a dive from Di Maria.

Not a dive, Ivanovic caught his heel. Debatable whether it was deliberate, but Ivanovic only has himself to blame for arguing and getting his first yellow. Why argue? The ref will never change his mind. Once you've been booked, anything you do subsequently gives you a chance of a second yellow.

I just had a look into the upcoming PL fixtures. Although I knew that our away trip to Villa is a live Monday night game, I hadn't appreciated that it was the start of three successive weekends that we're on Sky (two Monday nights, and an early Sunday afternoon in between).

Don't care. They were Away matches. They are gone and past caring, although you learn from the experience, of course. If you want to post-mortem, then look at the performances themselves. Saints can consider themselves unlucky not to have got something from either game. Which means that in every game this season, Saints have not been beaten out of sight. There has been no 2-0 or 3-0. They've been close. That's important. More often than not, we've been turning these tight ones into results for us. Yesterday 1-0 - although the scoreline actually lied. 1-0 against Swansea. There will be other 1-0s or 2-1s and it's hugely important they end in Saints favour more often than not.

Then there was 0-0 with WBA. I've downloaded that game and have still to watch it in detail. :)

Agreed, think we were very unfortunate against pool, probably deserved a point against spurs, maybe only deserved a point against Swansea, so probably should have had 3 draws, but got 4 points - I take that

Come on Fran, it's called winning ugly. :)

Funny how all the "sign of champions" cliches, be they grinding out results / "winning ugly" (Stoke), thumping teams (Sunderland, Newcastle) or winning when not playing well (Swansea) are not reeled out for Saints.

I'm not saying for a second that we have a chance. But I just don't see what is so different about us doing it compared to say, Arsenal or Liverpool

It also seems that a lot of the time our wins are due to the other team not performing. What will be the tipping point?

Hopefully we beat Man City (we have been robbed in most of our games against them since returning to the top flight), having gained a fair chunk of points from the preceding 3 games (6-9 to keep up a 2 points per game average).

So, according to Lawro, Chelsea are the best defensive side in the Premier League. An interesting observation, and fairly typical of his Southampton-blindness.

I'm sure he'll be right over the whole season.

Need to be less sensitive about this stuff.
