Go on - do explain about my different angles. I'm looking back and I've merely repeated the same thing over and over again.

And it's an excellent point, thank you for highlighting it again.

Well it seems like I've been spouting a bloody accurate load of bollux judging by the quotes from the guardian, your own supporters, the statsistics and the reports from the matches.

But of course, I'd much rather believe the unverified insight of johnnywarks "NOT606's thick Andy Townsend" moustache

    <applause> Great come back Rob...

You have said that our greatest goal threat comes from Set Pieces so please explain how it is that we have only scored 3 goals from set peices and the rest have come from open play?

Because it is your single biggest goal threat. As Guru says:
That doesn't mean it's your only goal threat. Just your main one. Which it is.

But amidst all the faux outrage at the supposed offence I have caused, let me just repeat these:

"When you don't have the resources other clubs do, you have to play to your strengths. That's what Mick McCarthy is doing, it's working fantastically well and as I have already said you've good reason to be proud of it. And if you enjoy the style, all the better."

"And frankly, it's why you're doing well, because it works. So you might as well embrace it. If you enjoy it, all the better from your pov. I'm not saying you can't be proud of your team - you can because they've done seriously well with limited resources. And doubtless you'll tell me I'm patronising and you'll get more apoplectic, but those are the facts. And as I said, I'm happy because I saw your match against us and at that moment I thought you were genuinely going to League 1. And that mean a serious danger of no derby matches for a long time."

"That system works, it creates chances and it makes teams better than the sum of their parts."

"Everyone knows that's what MM does. And it works, very well. Look at how your team is doing with the resources available. You can't deny it, but if you're happy with it then great. No complaints. As I said, it's the thing keeping you afloat and so can only be a good thing IMO "

All from this thread. All esssentially complimentary. But don't let that get in the way of your picture of events. I know you love to be offended and you are "always the victim", but that's really not the case here.

How can it be our main goal threat when we have scored fewer goals that way! <doh>

In the same way that a company can be the main shareholder when they only have 4% of the shares. Main just means single biggest <doh>. FAOD goals like Murphy's against Millwall are from set pieces

Feel free to take it up with Guru if you have an issue with that analysis <ok>

Trying to be nice and it just gets thrown back in my face. Charming.

What facts? At least a quarter of your goals have come from set pieces. That's pretty reliant. As Guru says. Take it up with him.

EDIT: nearly a third as I see that Murphy also scored against Rotherham off a corner. Doubtless one or two of your other goals were indirectly from set pieces, so it may well be more than a third.

What you mean to say Rob is Ipswich have conceded their last 4 goals from corners so are vulnerable to set pieces ?.

    What point have I ignored?

You said it's not your biggest threat. Yet Guru disagrees and there is plenty of evidence to show Guru is correct - 5/16 of your goals come from set pieces. I would think that puts you in the highest percentage in the league for set piece goals or thereabouts. You clearly rely on that. A goal is a goal and each one is just as valuable as another.

It's not a big deal, you were the one that brought the point up. I don't expect an apology or anything. But if you couldn't care less why have you even bothered on here if it's not just to wum?

Is that right warky? well if you say so! never let it be said that im afraid to say when i am wrong unlike some people!

its probably because we always look a threat it seems more!

The crux comes down to the fact that if it was norwich that was deadly from set pieces then Rob would be shouting it from the rooftops, as they aren't, he has to put it down as a bad thing! pretty childish if you ask me, but hey ho if he gets off on it then thats his business, all i know is that there have been a group of us at work pissing ourselves at his sidestepping of questions and pigheadedness.

Sorry Guru but your workmates must be as lacking in intelligence as you obviously are! Rob has answered your queries precisely and cincisely on more than one occasion, it would appear that your brain and those of your workmates seem to be incapable of taking that in!
