Not wishing to sound OTT....but that second blow could have killed him...good job he pulled it back at the last second....Reminded me a little of Gazza in the FA Cup final when he tried to wipe out a Forest player and ended up injuring himself more...Clearly too hyped up for the game...

Think the RL will have to deal with him big time.....final warning and all that...Do that again sunshine and your career is over...

I'm not so sure, but the right call was reached either way.

I'm not a fan of criminal proceedings from sport unless it's something really, really serious.

A really long ban (12-15 games depending on his previous which I don't think is too bad) massive fine and make him go and coach at some of the Welsh amateur clubs, in my option would be right.

    It's happened before...

Duncan Ferguson - 6 months for GBH after headbutt.

Michael Hutchinson - 12 months for breaking another players jaw.

TBF Ferguson was stitched up and made a example of because of who is was.

The SFA and the victim even appeared in court as witnesses for the victim.

He singlehandedly cost his team the game, theyd easily have won that otherwise. It was the ****test grand final I've seen for a while.

You're the one displaying ignorance. I played the sport for years, alongside quite a few guys who ended up going professional, and I have it from the horses mouths that they took steroids.

I find it hard to believe they aren't all unwatchable, but I guess thats more thank likely personal preference, rather than in-game proficiencies (couldn't make myself say game quality).

I say the same about RL and RU, it's now just big fella's running into other big fella's. This so called 'physicality' has removed so much of the skill. Majority of points are scored late on, not due to skill, it's just they are all ****ed from running into each other.

I remember RU in my early years with Campese, Blanco, Sella, Underwood, all dazzling with footwork and flair. Lucky if you get a single sidestep in the whole 80mins nowadays.

You might want to read what I put, I said I know for a fact some players take steroids, I play in a team now with guys that have played super league and championship RL, they've seen it first hand. Although it's typically young kids that need to put on the weight and rarely an experienced pro that is already halfway through their career.

What I was saying that Ben Flower shows no signs of steroid use and really has no reason to use them. His increase in size is easily attainable naturally and as a high profile pro has too much to lose by taking them for what would be a very small advantage.

All sounds a bit sleezy and illegal. Remind us of the 'slimming pills' the entire Hull FC squad were allegedly taking, with the coaches blessing, a couple of seasons ago.
This would never be allowed in football.
Yet RL continues to claim the morale high ground over football over players diving and such. Is not taking steroids a lot worse then a footballer faking that he has been fouled to win a free kick ?

So the last 10 posts is that Males in England with Freedom of choice in their lives are in fact by claim & disclaimer Unnatural & Imperfect Athletes that may need to resort to Stimulants & or Violence in order to be effective in RL. Interesting hardly. The good Ol fashion stereotype of MEN playing Rugger & heading down to the Pub aftetwards & smoking 20 ***s & Downing 10 pints B4 heading home is now replaced by Super Fit strong health machines who hit at the force of Mach 1.

Not sure which Image of The players is more sickening.

I played in the Hull Works League in the 50's for Fenners aged 17 but it was too tough for me and I code-hopped to Union after half a season. Played for Hull College of Technology, London University and the Vale of Lune across 5 seasons before a serious shoulder injury saw me finish back in the game I first played aged 9 - football.

Doubly edged in Irony. I grew up in Australia playing a code of Aussie Rules, as in Melbourne in the late 70's , early 80's Rugby Was'nt played much. And Aussie Rules had'nt been subjected to Interstate participation as in recent years. But ended up in Hull. And You Blue Mountain Bear are the paradox in reverse. Small World Eh!?

Think the commentators got it spot on. The first punch is a yellow, the second ones a red.

Absolutely disgusting. Theres a certain kind of 'unwritten rule' within rugby that a punch up is part of the game when it happens, but if a player goes to deck he's no longer part of it.

Should be getting a long ban this lad. Hope he is always reminded that he cost his team in the biggest game of his life, the ****.
